How They Get Paid
Now, it ain’t always just a yearly salary, see? Sometimes they get paid by the hour. I heard some folks sayin’ they might make somethin’ like $21 to $40 an hour. That ain’t bad, especially if you’re workin’ long hours. But for the big matches, the ones on TV, they get paid even more.
I heard tell that for a regular match, a big-name announcer might get somethin’ like $10,000. But for them fancy pay-per-view matches, the ones everyone watches, they could be gettin’ $20,000 or even more! Shoot, that’s more money than some folks make in a whole year!
Some Famous Announcers and Their Money
There’s this one gal, Samantha somethin’ or other, I heard she’s makin’ a whole lot of money. They say she’s one of the best, and she gets paid like it. They say she makes about $350,000 a year! Then there are other folks like Alicia Taylor and Jojo Offerman, their salaries are different, one made $15,000, and another made $100,000. See? It ain’t all the same for everybody.
And there’s this feller, Buffer, I think his name is. He don’t work for the WWE all the time, but when he does, he gets paid big bucks. I heard he can make anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000 for just one event! And sometimes, if it’s a really big deal, he might even get a million dollars! Can you imagine that? A million dollars just for yellin’ into a microphone!
So, How Much Do They Really Make?
Well, like I said, it ain’t easy to say for sure. It depends on who you are, how famous you are, and how much work you do. But from what I hear, these ring announcers, they ain’t doin’ too bad. They’re makin’ enough to put food on the table and then some. And some of them, well, they’re livin’ the high life, that’s for sure.
So next time you’re watchin’ that wrestlin’ on TV, and you hear that feller yellin’ into the microphone, just remember, he’s probably makin’ more money than you think. He might just be yellin’ names, but he’s gettin’ paid good money to do it.
