So, I’ve been meaning to get back into football lately. It’s been a while, and I realized I’m not exactly in the best shape. Plus, I ain’t getting any younger, so I gotta think about protecting myself out there. First thing that came to mind? A football girdle. Figured it’s a good place to start, you know, keep the hips and thighs safe from those nasty hits.
The thing is, I had no clue how much these things cost. Back in the day, we just used whatever the team had. Now, I’m on my own, and I gotta buy my own gear. So, I started looking around, trying to figure out what’s what.

Types of Girdles
Turns out, there are a couple of different types.
- Standard Girdles: These have pockets where you can put your own pads in. Kinda like a DIY thing, I guess.
- Integrated Girdles: These come with pads already in them, all sewn in and ready to go.
I started poking around online, checking out different sporting goods stores, just trying to get a feel for the prices. I saw some well-known brands with Integrated 5 pads, which looked pretty solid. Looked at some others, too, just to compare.
After looking around for what felt like forever, I finally decided to go with an integrated girdle. Seemed easier, you know? No need to mess around with separate pads. Found a decent one from a brand I recognized. It wasn’t the cheapest, but it wasn’t crazy expensive either. I ended up getting one. It came in the mail a few days later, and I gotta say, it felt pretty good. Snug, but not too tight. Pads felt solid, like they could take a hit.
All in all, I’d say it was a pretty successful shopping trip. Got myself a decent football girdle without breaking the bank. Now, I just gotta work on my fitness, but at least I know I’ll be a bit safer out there on the field.
