Okay, so I wanted to play NBA 2K24, but man, that price tag is a bit steep. So I thought, “Why not try to get it for free?” And guess what, I kinda did!
First, I did some digging around on my phone. It turns out there’s this thing called NBA 2K Mobile. It’s a free-to-play version of the game, but for your phone. I downloaded it from the app store, it was easy to find.

When I first started the game, there were some settings I messed with. I turned off the shot meter because it felt a bit clunky to me, and I set the shot feedback to “all” so I could get a better feel for my shots. I also saw something about shot timing and visual cues, but honestly, I just picked one that felt okay and went with it.
The game asked me to make my own player, which was pretty cool. I spent a good chunk of time making him look just right. The creation is basic, I can not add too many details to make him unique. But it did not impact the basic gameplay.
For the camera angle, a lot of people online seem to use something called “2K Cam.” So, I switched to that and zoomed all the way out. It felt a bit weird at first, but I got used to it after a few games.
I jumped into a few games, and it was fun! It’s not exactly the same as the console version, obviously, but it’s still basketball. I played some quick matches and even tried out the park mode, which is like playing on a street court. And, I did win a few games!
- Shot Meter: Off
- Shot Feedback: All
- Shot Timing Visual Cue: Picked one at random
- Camera Angle: 2K Cam, zoomed out
Game Settings I Changed:
So, yeah, while it’s not the full NBA 2K24 experience, NBA 2K Mobile is a decent way to get your basketball fix without spending any money. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re on a budget or just want to play some hoops on the go. I’m gonna keep playing and see how far I can go!
