Alright, so I wanted to dig into the world of professional Mexican boxers. You know, get a real feel for who’s who and what’s what. I’ve always been a casual boxing fan, but I figured it was time to go a bit deeper.
My Little Research Project
First, I started with the obvious – a good old-fashioned web search. I just typed in “top professional Mexican boxers” and see what popped up. Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming at first. Lots of names, lots of stats, and a whole bunch of websites I’d never heard of.

So, I decided to narrow things down. I focused on a few of the bigger names that kept coming up – Canelo Álvarez, of course, Juan Manuel Márquez, and Érik Morales. These guys seemed like a good starting point.
- Canelo Álvarez: Man, this guy is a beast. Multiple world championships in different weight classes. Super popular. Definitely someone to know.
- Juan Manuel Márquez: Known for his legendary fights with Manny Pacquiao. A real warrior in the ring. I could feel his intense when I read articles.
- Érik Morales: Another Pacquiao rival, and a champion in multiple divisions. Seemed like a total badass.
I spent a few hours just reading articles and watching highlight reels. Got myself watching videos. It was cool to get a sense of their different fighting styles and personalities. One by one, that’s my way.
Then, I tried to find some reliable sources for upcoming fights. I didn’t want to just know the history; I wanted to see who’s fighting now. That took a bit more digging, but I eventually found a couple of sites that seemed pretty up-to-date.
Honestly, the whole process was a bit messy. Lots of clicking around, lots of information overload. But I feel like I have a much better understanding now. At least I can name a few top fighters and know a little bit about them!
Next time, I think I’ll try to find some good boxing podcasts or documentaries. Maybe that will be a more organized way to learn. But for now, I’m happy with my little deep dive into the world of Mexican boxing.
It feels so great to explore sth I am interested in, even though it’s just a begining.
