Well, let me tell ya, if you’re lookin’ to know about the 2014-15 Minnesota Timberwolves team, you came to the right place. Now, this was a season that wasn’t too pretty for the Timberwolves, I reckon. They ended up with a record of 16 wins and 66 losses, which is pretty rough if ya ask me. They were dead last in the Western Conference that year, and fifth in the Northwest Division. But, there were still some good moments here and there, even though things didn’t exactly go according to plan.
Now, let’s start with the players. The team had a mix of young fellas, rookies, and some older guys tryin’ to keep things together. The big name from that season was Andrew Wiggins. Boy, he could score some points! He was the team’s leader with 1,387 points. That’s a lot of points, don’t ya think? Wiggins came over to the Timberwolves in the trade with Cleveland when they swapped Kevin Love for him. It didn’t make the team a winner, but it sure made the Timberwolves interesting to watch. And, Andrew Wiggins, bless his heart, he did a lot for the team that year.

Then there was Karl-Anthony Towns, who was a rookie that year. Now, I know, that fella’s a big deal now, but back then, he was just startin’ out. But boy, did he show some promise. He could play real good on both ends of the court. Towns, he was another bright spot on the team, even though the team didn’t win too many games. He went on to become a star in the league, but 2014-15 was just the beginnin’ of it all.
The Timberwolves had a lotta players come and go that season. There was Mo Williams, a guard, and he could shoot some threes when needed. There was also Ricky Rubio, a point guard from Spain. Now, he wasn’t the best shooter, but he sure could pass that ball around and make some fancy plays. But, all in all, the team struggled to find a solid rhythm, and the wins just didn’t come as often as they’d hoped.
Here’s a quick rundown of the roster, in case you’re curious about who else was on the team that year:
- Andrew Wiggins – 1,387 points, small forward
- Karl-Anthony Towns – Rookie, center
- Ricky Rubio – Point guard
- Mo Williams – Guard
- Thaddeus Young – Power forward
- Nikola Pekovic – Center
- Gorgui Dieng – Center
- Shabazz Muhammad – Small forward
- Adreian Payne – Power forward
- Robbie Hummel – Forward
There were plenty of other players that made appearances, but these were some of the key fellas for that season. Most of ‘em didn’t stay long, but they all played their part in tryin’ to get the Timberwolves to be a bit better. Like I said before, that season wasn’t all bad, but it sure wasn’t good either. Still, they kept tryin’, even though the scoreboard wasn’t too friendly.
Now, I gotta mention, there were some other interesting things goin’ on that year, like the draft. The Timberwolves drafted a young fella named Robbie Hummel, who they picked in the second round of the 2012 draft. He didn’t get much playin’ time, but he still showed up and did his best whenever he got the chance.

In the end, the Timberwolves’ 2014-15 season wasn’t one for the history books. But, it was a season where the team started to build up some talent for the future. Sure, they weren’t makin’ the playoffs or anything like that, but they had some good pieces on the team, and those pieces would eventually help the team get better down the line.
So, if you ever get to thinkin’ about that season, just remember – not every year can be a championship year, but every season is a chance to grow and learn. The Timberwolves were down that year, but they weren’t out. And that’s somethin’ I reckon anyone can appreciate.
