Well, you know, I gotta tell ya, these two fellas, Jake Shields and Dillon Danis, they sure did cause a ruckus at that Submission Underground 4, I tell ya! It was like watching two bulls tryin’ to outdo each other, both of ’em strong as oxen in their own ways. Jake, he’s been around the block a few times, all seasoned from MMA, a real veteran. And that Danis feller, well, he’s the hotshot from jiu-jitsu, always talkin’ big, but he’s still got a lot to prove in the big leagues.
It all went down in a no-gi submission-only fight, and it wasn’t like one of them regular ones where they get to punch and kick each other. No sir! They were just tryin’ to get the other to tap out. Now, I reckon that Jake, with all his years in MMA, knows how to handle himself when it comes to ground game. He didn’t waste no time gettin’ his hands on Dillon. First thing Jake did, he went for that takedown like he was tryin’ to put a stubborn cow in the pen. Dillon tried to put him in a one-arm guillotine, but Jake, he ain’t no fool, that didn’t work.

Then, Dillon was on the ground lookin’ like a chicken that lost its way, doin’ nothin’ much while Jake just kept pushin’ him against that cage like a bear squeezin’ a rabbit. Now, ya might think that was it, but no. They both got up, and you could see Jake was ready to try somethin’ else, went for another takedown, showin’ off all them years of experience he’s got. It wasn’t pretty, but it was effective.
I don’t know about you, but I reckon Danis, even though he’s real good at them submission moves, he might’ve underestimated ol’ Jake. They don’t call Jake a veteran for nothin’. Dillon, he’s young, and he’s got that jiu-jitsu fire, but in that fight, he was like a pup tryin’ to take down an old dog.
Now, this whole thing started a long time ago. Jake Shields, he’s been around MMA for years. He’s fought some of the best, and he’s got the experience to back it up. Dillon, on the other hand, well, he’s been ridin’ high with Conor McGregor’s crowd, and he’s known for his jiu-jitsu, but folks started wonderin’ if he was bitin’ off more than he could chew. I reckon he still has to prove himself when it comes to the bigger stages.
The funny thing is, Dillon might not have seen this coming. He’s used to fightin’ in jiu-jitsu competitions, where he’s got all them slick moves. But in a match like this, it ain’t just about how fancy you can be with your holds and submissions; it’s about who can outsmart the other and control the fight. And that’s where Jake showed he still knows what he’s doin’.
The folks who follow this stuff closely, they’re already chattin’ about how Jake Shields’ experience in the cage might’ve made the difference. Jake, he don’t just go in there for the fun of it. He’s been to the top, fought the best, and even when things got tough, he’s been able to get the job done. Dillon, though, he’s still workin’ on gettin’ that kind of steady hand.

Well, you can bet this ain’t the last we’ll hear of them two. If I know anything, this ain’t no one-off. They’ll probably go at it again, maybe in another competition, or who knows? Maybe even in MMA. But in the end, I reckon this fight gave folks a real look at what these two bring to the table.
Jake Shields vs Dillon Danis – who’s the better grappler?
Well, it’s hard to say for sure. Both of ’em have their strengths, and this fight only showed part of what they can do. Jake’s got that cage control and takedown ability, while Dillon’s got them slick submission moves. They’re both dangerous in their own right, but I reckon the next time they face off, it’ll be a whole different ball game.
