Ah, y’all wanna know about the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2017-18 season, huh? Well, sit down, I’ll tell ya what I remember. The Timberwolves, they didn’t do too bad that season, though it coulda been better. They finished the regular season with a record of 47 wins and 35 losses. Not too shabby for a team that’s been through its ups and downs, huh? They ended up 4th in the Northwest Division, and 8th in the whole Western Conference. They made it to the playoffs, but, well, they didn’t last long there. Got knocked out in the first round by the Houston Rockets. A shame, really.
Now, let’s talk about the roster. They had some big names that year. I’ll go over the folks who made the biggest impact, alright?

- Karl-Anthony Towns – A big ol’ guy who could play ball real good. He was the team’s big star, no doubt. He was picked 1st overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. Real tall fella, stands at 6’11”, and a strong player inside. He got a lot of points that season and was a big reason the Wolves made it to the playoffs.
- Jimmy Butler – Ah, now here’s a guy I gotta tell you about. Butler, he came over from Chicago and helped the team quite a bit. He was a real hard worker, always hustlin’. Even though he got hurt in the season, he still gave his all. He’s a guard, and a strong one at that. Real tough, this guy.
- Andrew Wiggins – This boy was another one folks had their eyes on. Wiggins, he’s got the height, standing at 6’7″, and he’s quick on his feet. Not as much of a scorer as Towns, but he was important for the team too.
- Jeff Teague – Now, Teague was the point guard, and he ran the show for the Wolves. Not as flashy as some, but he knew how to set up the plays. He was 6’3″ and was an experienced player, having been around the league for a while by that point.
- Tyus Jones – A young fella, but don’t let that fool ya, he’s real good. Tyus was quick, could shoot, and he’d always find a way to get his teammates involved. Not much of a scorer like some others, but he was smart with the ball.
- Taj Gibson – Now, Gibson, he’s a veteran. Older fella, but boy, did he bring experience and grit to the team. He was tough on defense and got some key rebounds for the Timberwolves when they needed it most.
The Timberwolves also had some other folks, like Jamal Crawford, Nemanja Bjelica, and others who chipped in here and there, but those were the ones who really made a difference. Now, I remember a lot of folks talkin’ about how the Wolves coulda gone farther if they’d just been a bit more consistent. That playoff run? It was short-lived, but hey, it was something. People were hopin’ for better next year.
What really got folks excited that year was the team’s potential. They had a good mix of young players and veterans. Karl-Anthony Towns was showin’ he could be the face of the franchise, and Jimmy Butler, well, he was lookin’ like a leader. But injuries and some other hiccups kept ‘em from going too far. Still, I reckon 47-35 wasn’t too bad for a team that hadn’t been in the playoffs for a while. Maybe next season, they’ll get it all together, eh?
Well, that’s all I gotta say about the 2017-18 Timberwolves. They had their moments, but like most teams, they still got a long way to go. Who knows? Maybe they’ll surprise us in the future. But for now, they gotta keep workin’ hard and tryin’ to get better.
