What channel is that Duke football game on? My grandson keeps askin’ and I ain’t got a clue. Kids these days, always glued to that darn TV. Back in my day, we played outside ’til the cows came home. But, gotta keep the young’un happy, I reckon.
So, Duke football, that’s what he’s yellin’ about. He wants to watch it real bad. I remember somethin’ about that ABC channel. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I think I saw that on the TV guide. Yep, could be ABC. That’s channel number… well, I can’t rightly recall. But it’s there, somewhere in them hundreds of channels. We got more channels than we got chickens in the coop, I tell ya.
Figurin’ Out This TV Thing
This whole TV watchin’ thing is a mess. Too many buttons on that remote. I just stick to my stories, usually. But the boy, he loves his Duke football game. Says it’s a big one, somethin’ about playin’ against a team called… Miami? Sounds like a hot place. Probably got more sunshine than sense down there.

He was sayin’ somethin’ about noon. Kickoff at 12 noon, that’s what he said. Like they’re kickin’ a bucket or somethin’. Football, it’s a rough game. Lots of runnin’ and fallin’. Hope those boys don’t hurt themselves too bad. I always worry, you know, like a grandma does. I always told my grandson that he should play safer games, like checkers. But he only like the college football.
Now, there’s also somethin’ called ESPN. Sounds like a spy agency or somethin’. He watches that sometimes too. And ESPN2, ESPN+. Plus what? Plus more confusion, that’s what! And there is a Fox channel too. I saw a fox once, sneak into my hen house. The boy says it’s a different Fox, he said it’s a channel you can watch Duke football game on. This is really confusing. And NBC. What a mess! This TV thing is too much for an old lady like me.
The Big Game, I Guess
This Duke versus Miami game, it’s a big deal, I suppose. He says they played each other a bunch of times, like 20 times. Miami won more, he said. Fifteen to five, somethin’ like that. Sounds like them Miami folks are pretty good at this football thing. Maybe they practice in that hot sun all day. I don’t like Miami. I want Duke win.
He also mentioned somethin’ called ACC Network. Another one of them networks! They just keep addin’ more and more. And somethin’ about a Blue Devil Sports Network. Blue Devils? Sounds spooky. I don’t care what color they are, long as they play fair. The boy’s sure got a lot to keep track of. Duke football this, Miami football that.
He said on Tuesday, there will be a College Football Playoff rankings. I don’t know what that is. I think if Miami beats Duke today, Miami will be No.5. The boy said Miami is the Hurricanes. What a name! He also said he will watch Duke vs. UConn on ESPN+. And said this is Week 3 college football game. What a mess! Too many things to remember!
Just Wanna Make Him Happy
I just want him to be happy, you know? That’s all that matters. If watchin’ that Duke football game on whatever channel it’s on makes him smile, then that’s good enough for me. Even if it is on that confusing ABC or ESPN or whatever. The boy said the game is on Saturday. I hope he can find the game to watch.
Maybe I’ll make him a pie or somethin’. A good apple pie always makes things better. Even if you can’t figure out which channel the darn Duke football game is on. He will be happy if Duke wins. Hope Duke can beat Miami. He just need to watch the game on TV. But I still don’t know what channel is the duke football game on.
