Alright, so you wanna know how many of them basketball fellas are Jehovah’s Witnesses, huh? Well, it ain’t exactly like countin’ chickens, but I heard some folks sayin’ there’s quite a few. More than 10 they say. Lord have mercy, that’s a whole team practically!
Now, I ain’t no basketball expert, mind you. I just hear things from the TV and the young’uns talkin’. They was yappin’ ’bout some fellas, big names they said, who play or used to play in that there NBA.

- One fella, they called him Danny Granger. Said he was a real good shooter, played for the Pacers. He’s one of ’em, a Jehovah’s Witness, they say. Played for a good long while too, 11 seasons or somethin’. Folks remember him bein’ pretty good, always scorin’ points.
- Then there’s this Dewayne Dedmon fella. He’s still playin’, last I heard, with the Miami Heat. Big fella, must be good at grabbin’ them rebounds. He’s one of them Witnesses too.
- And don’t forget Daren Collison. He played with Danny Granger on the Pacers, imagine that! Two fellas on the same team, both believin’ the same way. He ain’t playin’ no more, retired on account of his beliefs, some folks say.
They say there’s this AC Green fella too. Never seen him play myself, but the young’uns say he was a real iron man, played a whole heap of games without missin’ any. He’s one of them Witnesses too. And some other fellas, like Michael Adams, Mark Jackson, Reggie Theus, and Thurl Bailey, they say they were Witnesses too back in the day. My, my, that’s a whole bunch!
It’s kinda interestin’, you know? These fellas, they runnin’ and jumpin’ and throwin’ that ball, but they also got their faith. Just like us, believin’ in somethin’ bigger than themselves. Makes you think, don’t it?
Now, some folks, they leave the faith. Heard tell that over the years, lots and lots of folks stopped bein’ Jehovah’s Witnesses. Millions, they say. But these basketball fellas, seems like they stickin’ to it, at least most of ’em. It ain’t easy, I reckon, bein’ famous and all, and still keepin’ your beliefs strong. But good for them, I say. Good for them.
There might be more fellas too, ones we don’t even know about. Some play for a bit, then disappear, you know? Like shadows in the night. But the ones I mentioned, they’re the ones folks talk about. The ones that made a name for themselves, both on the court and in their faith.
So, yeah, that’s what I know about them basketball fellas and their Jehovah’s Witness faith. It’s a good few of ’em, that’s for sure. And who knows, maybe there’ll be more in the future. The world’s a changin’ place, but some things, like faith, they stick around.

Anyways, that’s the gist of it. Don’t go quotin’ me on the exact numbers, but that’s what I’ve heard tell from the TV and them young’uns. Basketball and faith, who woulda thunk it? The world is a funny place, ain’t it?
