This year, that Don Bosco Prep football, them boys, they got a whole lotta games lined up. Gonna be a busy year for ’em, I reckon. I seen the paper, had all them dates and times. Makes my head spin, all them numbers. But I try to keep up, you know? Gotta support them local boys. They work hard, bless their hearts.
First up, I think it was in, uh, September? Yeah, gotta be September. Sep 24, that’s what it said. They got a game that day. Don’t know who they’re playin’ against, though. Paper didn’t say. Just said “Don Bosco Prep Schedule”. Like I’m supposed to know what that means! Lordy, these young folks and their fancy words.
- They got games all through September.
- Then October, more games.
- Even in November, they’re still playin’.
They play lots of games, them football boys. Keeps ’em outta trouble, I suppose. Better than runnin’ around gettin’ into mischief, that’s for sure. My grandson, he plays too. Not for Don Bosco, though. He goes to that other school, the one across town. I don’t see his name on that Don Bosco Prep thing, so I guess he doesn’t play for them. That’s okay, I still root for him. Family is family, you know.
Now, I seen somethin’ about 2023, so I figure that’s this year. It has to be. Then there was somethin’ about 21-22. Now that has me all confused. Is that last year? Or the year before? Time flies when you’re gettin’ old, I tell ya. Everything gets jumbled up in my head.
They play somethin’ called varsity football. I don’t rightly know what that means. Sounds important, though. Must be a big deal if they put it in the paper like that. I just know it’s football. That’s all that matters to me. Big boys runnin’ around, chasin’ a ball. Keeps ’em fit, I guess.
Oh, and I seen the word “Ironmen” somewhere. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen, it said. Must be their, uh, their team name, or somethin’. Sounds tough, don’t it? Like they’re made outta iron. Probably just a name, though. Can’t really be made outta iron. That’d be somethin’, wouldn’t it?
They got all sorts of sports at that Don Bosco place. Baseball, Basketball, Football, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Volleyball. Goodness gracious, that’s a lot of runnin’ around! I get tired just thinkin’ about it. My old bones couldn’t handle all that. I used to play hopscotch when I was a little girl. That was enough for me!
There was something about a website called Squarespace. Says it’s for anyone who wants to “create a beautiful website”. I don’t know nothin’ about that. I don’t even have one of them computer things. Just use my old phone to call my grandkids. That’s all I need.
One of them dates I seen was Nov 22, 2024. Now that’s a ways off, ain’t it? That’s next year! They’re already plannin’ that far ahead? Lord have mercy, these folks are organized. I can barely remember what I had for breakfast this mornin’.
I tried to find somethin’ about where they’re playin’ these games, you know the location. But my eyes ain’t what they used to be. And that writin’ in the paper is so small! I need a magnifyin’ glass just to read the grocery ads. It’s a shame, gettin’ old. Everything starts fallin’ apart.
Anyways, that Don Bosco Prep football schedule 2023, it’s a long one. Those boys are gonna be busy. I hope they win a lot of games. Makes the town proud, you know? Gives us somethin’ to talk about at the diner. We love our football around here. It’s more than just a game, it’s, well, it’s somethin’ special. Brings folks together. And that’s always a good thing, ain’t it?
I also saw something about Eastern New Mexico University Football, that’s far away, I think. And something about Firefox, I heard that’s related to computers, but not sure what it is exactly. Too much information for my old brain. I only care about Don Bosco football.
I hope them Don Bosco boys do good this year. They seem like nice boys, from what I hear. Hard workers. That’s what it takes to win, I reckon. Hard work and a little bit of luck. And maybe a good prayer or two. Can’t hurt, right? Well, I’m gonna go rest my eyes now. All this talkin’ has worn me out. Go Ironmen!
