Alright, let’s talk about this dang football thing on TV, the one they call Fox NFL. I hear folks are fussin’ ’cause it’s in some other lingo, Spanish they call it. Now, I don’t know much about this fancy talkin’, but I can tell you what I reckon is goin’ on.

So, you’re sittin’ there, all ready for some football, and then bam! Them fellers on the TV are jabberin’ in Spanish. You’re checkin’ your buttons and whatnot, and everything’s set to English, even the refs are speakin’ English, the commercials too. But the game, it’s all Spanish-y. What the heck, right?
Well, it ain’t just you, seems like lots of folks are havin’ this problem. Some say it’s just the Fox channel, others say it’s only the NFL games. I even heard tell it happened durin’ that Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons game. So, it ain’t your TV, that’s for sure.
- One fella said somethin’ about bein’ in Texas and usually watchin’ Fox and CBS, but now the NFL games are in Spanish.
- Another one said even the commercials and refs are in English, just the game is in Spanish.
- And someone else said they checked all the settings, but there’s no way to change the audio.
Now, why would they do such a thing? Well, from what I gathered, them NFL folks, they say there’s a whole bunch of people who speak Spanish and love football too. They wanna watch the games, just like us. So, the bigwigs at NFL, they figured, “Hey, let’s give ’em the games in their own language!” Makes sense, I guess. They wanna make more money, and that’s how they do it.
This fella, Hans Schroeder, he’s some big shot at the NFL, he says givin’ folks the games in Spanish is important. Says there’s a lot of Spanish speakers who are fans, and they gotta reach them somehow. It’s good business, you know, more eyeballs on the screen, more money in their pockets.
But what about us, the folks who just wanna hear the game in plain old English? Well, it seems like there’s a way to fix it, most of the time. They say you gotta go to the settings on your TV. You know, that menu thing with all the buttons. Look for somethin’ called SAP, or MTS, or maybe just somethin’ that says Audio or Spanish. And then you gotta turn that SAP thing off. They say that should do the trick, put the game back in English.

It ain’t always easy, though. Some folks say they can’t find that setting, or it doesn’t work. And that’s just plain frustrating. You’re all set for some football, and now you’re fiddlin’ with buttons and menus, and missin’ the game. It ain’t right, I tell ya.
I reckon it’s all about them wantin’ to reach more folks, more viewers, more money. It’s just business, they say. But sometimes, I think they forget about us regular folks, the ones who just want to watch the game without all the fuss. Maybe they should make it easier to switch back and forth, or at least give us a heads-up when they’re gonna be speakin’ in that other language.
So, there you have it. That’s what I reckon is goin’ on with this Fox NFL Spanish thing. It’s all about reachin’ more folks, makin’ more money, and maybe, just maybe, tryin’ to be inclusive. But they gotta remember us too, the ones who just want to hear the game in good old American English. It’s football, not a language lesson, for crying out loud! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go find that darn SAP setting on my TV before the next game starts.
