Alright, so I’ve been a huge college football fan for years. Naturally, I always keep my eyes on the rankings – you know, gotta see where my team stands and who’s leading the pack. But figuring out exactly when these rankings drop? That’s been a bit of a head-scratcher.
So, I decided, you know what? I’m gonna dig into this and figure it out once and for all. I started by hitting up the usual spots – you know, the sports websites, and some forums. I skimmed through a bunch of articles, trying to piece together a clear picture.

What I found was a little bit messy at first, not gonna lie. But after a bit of digging, I realized there are a few different rankings to keep track of, and they each have their own schedule.
Here’s the lowdown:
- The College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings – these are the big ones, the ones that really matter for the national championship picture. They are released at 7 or 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday. And the final 12-team field will be revealed on Sunday, Dec. 8.
- The AP Top 25 – these come out a bit earlier. Usually, it’s around 2 p.m. ET on Sundays.
- The Coaches Poll – this one is usually released at or around 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
So, there you have it. It took a bit of digging, but now I’ve got a solid handle on when to expect the college football rankings. No more guessing games for me! Hopefully, this helps some of you other college football fanatics out there too. Now we can all stay in the loop and keep up with the action.
It’s pretty wild how much goes into these rankings, and how much they can change from week to week. It’s part of what makes college football so exciting, right? Always something to look forward to.
Anyways, I just wanted to share my little investigation with y’all. Maybe it’ll save you some time and confusion. Now, let’s get back to enjoying the games!
