Okay, so, I’ve been dealing with this annoying pain in my elbow. You know, that dull ache that just won’t quit? I finally caved and decided to try a tennis elbow brace. But then came the big question: where exactly do I put this thing?
First, I tried slapping it right on the spot where it hurt the most. That felt kinda good for a minute, like it was supporting the sore muscle. But after a while, it didn’t really seem to be doing much. The pain was still there, just kinda muffled.

Next, I moved the brace up my arm a bit, closer to my elbow joint. I figured maybe it needed to be higher up to, like, stabilize the whole area. Nope. That just felt awkward and didn’t do anything for the pain. It even felt like it was cutting off circulation a bit.
So, I started playing around with the placement a little more. I read somewhere online that the brace should go below the point of pain, on the forearm muscles. I gave that a shot. I fastened the brace a couple of inches below where it hurt, on the bulky part of my forearm.
- I made sure the strap wasn’t too tight, but still snug enough to feel some pressure.
- I wore it like that for a few hours, doing my usual stuff around the house.
The Result
And guess what? It actually started to make a difference! The pain wasn’t completely gone, but it was definitely less intense. I could move my arm more freely without that sharp, stabbing sensation.
I kept using the brace like that for a few days, and the improvement continued. It seems like putting it on the forearm muscle, just below the pain, was the key. It’s like the brace was taking some of the pressure off the tendon that was causing all the trouble.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with the tennis elbow brace. It took a bit of trial and error, but I finally figured out where to place it to get some relief. If you’re dealing with the same issue, I hope my experience helps you out! Just remember, everyone’s different, so you might need to experiment a bit to find the sweet spot for your own arm.
