Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with comparing Anthony Joshua (AJ) and Francis Ngannou, specifically looking at their fight times. I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about this, so I figured, why not dive in myself?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find the data. This was pretty straightforward – a quick search, and I got some basic info on their recent fights. No fancy tools, just good old-fashioned searching.

The Process
I opened up a simple text editor. Nothing complicated, I just wanted to keep track of what I was finding. Then I started jotting down the fight times. It’s a bit messy, just pulling information and putting it in one place.
- Looked for AJ’s fight times: I found his fight against Otto Wallin, and the one against Jermaine Franklin, among some earlier ones too.
- Looked for Ngannou’s fight times: His fight with Tyson Fury was the obvious one, and then I dug around to see if there were any more recent relevant boxing matches.
I basically spent a while just gathering this information. It wasn’t super organized, more like a digital scrapbook of times and dates. I wanted to get a feel for how long each of them typically lasts in the ring.
Making sense of it
After I had all this info down, I started to compare. It was pretty clear, that their fight are very short. I noticed some patterns, like how some fights went the distance, while others ended pretty quickly. I will share the data in my next post.
Wrapping Up
So, that’s basically it! I took a bunch of raw fight time data, looked at it, and tried to get a sense of things. It’s not rocket science, just a bit of fun and curiosity. It’s really cool to see how things stack up when you put the numbers side by side.
