Okay, so I’ve been getting into collecting baseball jerseys lately. It’s pretty fun, and I like having a piece of the game, you know? But the sizing? Man, it’s a mess. I found a jersey I really liked, and the tag said “52.” I was like, “What the heck does that even mean?”
So, I started digging. I grabbed a measuring tape – the kind you use for sewing. I put on one of my regular shirts that fits me pretty well.

- First, I measured across the chest, from armpit to armpit. I lay shirt flat on floor.
- Then, I multiplied that number by two to get the full chest measurement. Mine was around 48 inches.
Figuring Out the Jersey Size
Now, I went back to the size “52” jersey. I did the same thing – measured across the chest, armpit to armpit. It was 26 inches, I remenber double that number, 26 times 2 is 52. 52 is much large for me,so I think the size “52” would fit me.
It turned out “52” basically means a chest size of around 52 inches, that the number on the jersey corresponds (roughly) to the chest measurement in inches. So, the “52” jersey is larger for me, I need about “48”.
I’m still learning, I get why jersey sizing can be so confusing! Just remenber check the chest measurements, and you should be good to go.
