Chase Nixon and His Journey with NC State Baseball
Well, you know, folks around here talk a lot about them college boys playin’ baseball. And one name that’s been poppin’ up lately is this young man, Chase Nixon, who used to play for NC State. Now, if you ain’t heard, Chase Nixon ain’t with the team no more. He’s decided to take his chances and enter the transfer portal. Now, I don’t know much about that transfer portal business, but I hear it’s a big deal for them college ballplayers.

Let me tell ya a little bit about Chase. This boy, he started out strong with the Wolfpack, playin’ in a good number of games in 2023. He was out there on the field 39 times out of 61 games, and that’s no small feat! He was a left fielder, mostly, though I hear he could pinch-hit or even play right field when needed. This boy could swing a bat. In 2023, he was hittin’ at a .319 average, which is somethin’ to be proud of, if you ask me. That’s good hittin’, and I bet them coaches were real happy to have him on the team.
Now, as we look ahead to the 2024 season, it seemed like he might have a chance to be a starter. He had played 18 out of 32 games the year before, and that don’t usually happen unless you’re good at what you do. But, instead of stayin’ put, he decided to head out and see if maybe there was a better opportunity for him somewhere else.
Chase Nixon, he’s a Boston boy, born on September 11, 2001. He’s about 6 foot 1 inch tall, and weighs around 200 pounds. Now, I ain’t no expert on how tall or heavy a ballplayer should be, but seems to me like he’s built for the game. He bats left-handed, throws right, and I reckon that gives him a bit of an edge, especially when it comes to the way he swings the bat. A lot of them left-handed hitters got that nice smooth swing that just seems to come naturally. Must be somethin’ in the blood.
But it ain’t just baseball for Chase. I hear he’s got a family, too. He’s married to a lady named Kathryn, and together they got themselves two sons, Chase Jr. and Luke. It’s real nice to know that no matter where he goes, he’s got folks who love him and support him, even if it means switchin’ teams or makin’ big decisions like headin’ to the transfer portal.
Now, I ain’t sure where he’s goin’ next, but I do know that Chase Nixon’s got a lot of talent. I reckon wherever he lands, they’re gonna be lucky to have him. He’s put in the work, and he’s proved he can hang with the big boys. If he keeps his head on straight and keeps playin’ like he did for NC State, there’s no reason he won’t make a name for himself in this game.

So, if you’re a fan of college baseball, you best keep an eye on this young man, ’cause he ain’t done yet. This might just be the start of somethin’ big for ol’ Chase Nixon.
