Alright, so you wanna watch that KU football game today, huh? It ain’t rocket science, I tell ya. Even this old woman can figure it out, so you surely can too.
First thing’s first, you gotta know what channel it’s on. Seems like most of them big games are on FOX these days. Yeah, that’s right, F-O-X. Like the critter that sneaks into the hen house, only this one brings you football instead of trouble… mostly.

Now, if you got cable, well, then you’re probably all set. Just flip through them channels ’til you find FOX. They got fancy folks talkin’ and showin’ replays and all that jazz. Some fellas named Jason somethin’, Brock somethin’-else, and a lady named Allison, they usually do the talkin’ for the games. They yap a lot, but sometimes they say somethin’ useful, ya know?
But let’s say you’re like me and ditched that cable bill a long time ago. Too darn expensive, if you ask me. All them channels I never watched, just eatin’ a hole in my pocketbook. So, what then? Well, you ain’t out of luck yet.
- There’s this thing called Fubo TV. Heard it’s pretty good for watchin’ sports. Don’t ask me how it works, exactly. It’s somethin’ on that there internet, I reckon. You pay ’em some money, and they let you watch the channels, somethin’ like that.
- Then there’s DirecTV. Now, that one I know a little bit about. Used to have the dish on my roof, back in the day. Guess they got an internet thingy now too. Same kinda deal, pay ’em, watch the games.
- And this YouTube TV. Now, ain’t that somethin’? YouTube used to be just for cat videos and folks fallin’ down, and now they got football games too? The world’s a changin’ faster than a greased piglet, I tell ya. But yeah, YouTube TV, that’s another way to watch them Jayhawks play.
So, you got a few choices there. Just pick the one that sounds right for you and your wallet. And don’t go spendin’ your rent money just to watch a football game, ya hear? There’s other ways. Maybe a neighbor has it or you could go to a bar if you got one close by. Those are usually good options too.
Now, when the game’s on is another thing you gotta figure out. They usually play on Saturdays, but not always. Sometimes they got games durin’ the week, at night even! Who ever heard of playin’ football at night? But I guess them young fellas got more energy than I do these days. So, check the schedule. You can usually find it online, or maybe in the newspaper if you still get one of those. Look for something that says when the kickoff time is. That’s when the game starts, see?
And who are the Jayhawks playin’ anyway? Sometimes it’s them Colorado Buffaloes, sometimes Texas Tech fellas. I can’t keep track of all them teams, to be honest. Too many of ’em, if you ask me. But you gotta know who they’re playin’ so you can cheer for the right team, right? Unless you just like watchin’ the fellas run around and smack into each other, which is fine too, I suppose. I heard KU is a real old team too… been playin’ since way back when. Coach Leipold fella is in charge of ’em now.

So, there you have it. That’s how this old woman figures out how to watch a KU football game. Find the channel, find a way to watch it if you don’t have cable, figure out what time it’s on and who they’re playing, and you’re good to go. Now go on and enjoy the game, and don’t forget to holler for the Jayhawks! And maybe get yourself a nice cold somethin’ to drink and a snack while you’re at it. That’s what I always do.
Oh and one more thing, seems like they got a game comin up tomorrow too, or maybe it was yesterday, I can’t keep track anymore. But they played or are playin’ against some team called ASU. Just keep your eyes peeled, and you won’t miss a game, I reckon.
