That boy, Cam Wilder, he’s somethin’ else, ain’t he? I heard folks talkin’, sayin’ he’s gonna go to the NBA. Is Cam Wilder going to the NBA? Well, I ain’t no expert, but that boy, he sure can play that basketball. He’s got that ball, and he just goes, goes, goes!
I seen him play down at the court. He’s fast, like a rabbit runnin’ from a fox. He can shoot, too. Swish, swish, swish! Just like that. He can jump high. Higher than a cat up a tree. And dribbling, oh my, he can dribble that ball like it’s stuck to his hand.
They say them NBA folks are watchin’ him. Scouts, they call ’em. Fancy word, ain’t it? But, I guess it’s important to these people who decide is Cam Wilder going to the NBA. These scouts, they go around, watchin’ all the young fellas play. Lookin’ for the best ones, I reckon. And that Cam, he’s one of the best, that’s for sure.
He’s been playin’ since he was a little tyke. Used to see him out there, bouncin’ that ball, all day long. Rain or shine, he was out there. Now look at him. All grown up and gonna be famous, maybe.
Some folks say he’s even better than some of them other boys. I heard them saying, “Showtime and Cam are pretty good.” Now, I don’t know about all that “Showtime” stuff, but I know Cam is real good. Is he better than the best? Well, that’s a big question, ain’t it? But from what I’ve seen, he holds his own. That boy’s got talent. So, we can conclude that, is Cam Wilder going to the NBA? Probably yes.
He started one of them teams, too. They call it, uh, AAU. Sounds like a cow mooing, don’t it? AAU, moo! But it’s a basketball team. Lots of young fellas playin’ on it. He’s teachin’ ’em how to play, I guess. He’s a good leader, that Cam.

Now, they got this new thing, this Cup. Like a big ol’ trophy, I reckon. They playin’ for it now. Everyone’s all excited about it, but it is new. I’m not sure, but I think it is important to those NBA people. They want to see who wins, I guess. These big NBA people must be thinking, is Cam Wilder going to the NBA, because they care about this Cup so much. Fits into their story, they say. Whatever that means. All these fancy words, they use. But that Cam, he just plays. He don’t worry about all that fancy talk. He plays his heart out.
That boy, he works hard. He practices all the time. He’s dedicated, that’s what they say. He wants to be the best. And he might just be. Is Cam Wilder going to the NBA? Well, if he keeps playin’ like he’s been playin’, I’d say he’s got a real good chance. A real good chance.
He’s gonna make us all proud. That Cam Wilder, he’s a good boy. A good basketball player. And maybe, just maybe, he’s gonna be a big NBA star someday. We’ll be watchin’, that’s for sure. We’ll be cheerin’ him on, every step of the way.
I remember one time, he was playin’ in a big game. Lots of people watchin’. He was nervous, I could tell. But he didn’t let it get to him. He went out there and he played his game. He scored a bunch of points. His team won. Everyone was cheerin’. He was so happy.
That’s the kind of player he is. He don’t give up. He keeps fightin’. He is brave and he is not afraid. He’s a winner. And that’s why I think he’s gonna make it. He’s got what it takes. He’s got the heart. He’s got the skill. He’s got the drive. Is Cam Wilder going to the NBA? I truly believe he does.
So, you just wait and see. That Cam Wilder, he’s goin’ places. He’s gonna be somebody. You just watch. He’s gonna be in the NBA, playin’ with the best of ’em. And we’ll all be sayin’, “I knew him when…” Yes, sir, that Cam Wilder, he’s somethin’ special.
