You know, I heard some folks talking ’bout them NFL teams, and it got me thinkin’. Do them NFL teams got bands? Like the ones we see at the county fair, with the trumpets and drums and all that jazz? I ain’t never seen one on the TV, but maybe I just missed it.
I remember back when, they used to have bands at them games. Heard tell they was from the high schools ’round here. Them kids would play their hearts out, marchin’ up and down the field. But that was a long time ago, back in the 70s or somethin’. Things change, I guess. But now I wonder, do NFL teams have bands?
Them Baltimore Ravens
Well, I did hear tell of a team called the Baltimore Ravens. Seems they got a band. Yep, a real band with trumpets and drums, just like the old days. They call it Baltimore’s Marching Ravens. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They been around since ’47, which is before my time, even! They’s the official band of the Ravens.
They say them Ravens folks is real proud of their band. I reckon it brings some folks back to the old days. You know, before all the fancy lights and the big screens. Back when things was simpler. Just football, music, and family. That’s what I heard, anyway.
What ‘Bout Other Teams?
Now, that got me wonderin’ about the other teams. Do they got bands too? I ain’t heard nothin’ ’bout it, but that don’t mean much. I don’t get out much these days. My old bones ain’t what they used to be.
- Do the Dallas Cowboys have a band?
- What about the Green Bay Packers?
- Or them New York Giants?
I just don’t know. Maybe some folks out there know more ’bout this than I do. It seems like a nice thing, havin’ a band at a football game. Brings a little somethin’ extra, you know? Like a cherry on top of a sundae.
Why No More Bands?
I guess things just changed. Folks got busy, and maybe they figured a band wasn’t necessary no more. They got them big screens now, and all them fancy lights. And the music they play over the speakers is loud enough to wake the dead. I’d wager a good many people don’t care for the bands.
But I still think it’s a shame. A real band, with real instruments, played by real people. That’s somethin’ special. It’s like homemade pie versus store-bought. There just ain’t no comparison.
Marching Bands is Good
I heard some folks sayin’ that marching band should be a sport. And you know what? I think they might be right. Them band members, they work hard. They march and play, rain or shine. It ain’t easy, carryin’ them heavy instruments and marchin’ in them formations. Takes a lot of puff, I tell ya.
So, maybe them NFL teams should think ’bout bringin’ back the bands. It would be a nice way to honor them hard-workin’ musicians. And it would add a little somethin’ special to the game. Somethin’ real and authentic. Like the Baltimore Ravens. They got a good thing. I don’t know if NFL teams have bands besides them, though.
Family Fun
Football games is supposed to be about family. At least, that’s how it used to be. And what’s more family-friendly than a marching band? Kids love ’em. They like the music and the costumes and the whole shebang. If you ask me, NFL teams should be looking to make it more fun for the families.
I remember takin’ my own kids to see the high school band. They loved it. They’d tap their little feet and clap their hands. It was a real treat. And it didn’t cost an arm and a leg, neither. Which was always nice. Times is tight, you know.
Back in the Day
Nowadays, seems like everything’s about money. Them NFL teams, they’re makin’ a fortune. But are they really givin’ the fans what they want? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned. But I think a little bit of the old ways wouldn’t hurt nobody. Do NFL teams have bands these days? I only heard of the Ravens.
I remember when folks used to go to football games just to have a good time. It wasn’t about all the glitz and glamour. It was about the game, the music, and the company. It was about community. And a marching band is a big part of that. At least, it used to be.
Maybe I’m just ramblin’ now. But I sure would like to see more bands at them football games. It would make this old heart happy. And I bet it would make a lot of other folks happy too. You know, the folks who remember the good old days. When things was simpler. And when music was made by people, not machines. The Baltimore Ravens seem like good people, having their own band.
So, to answer the question, do NFL teams have bands? I only know of one for sure. But I sure hope more will get ’em soon!
