Well, let me tell you about them Minnesota Timberwolves, you know, the basketball team that played in the 2017-18 season. I ain’t no expert or nothin’, but I been watchin’ the games and payin’ attention to who was runnin’ up and down that court. Now, in that season, they had quite a few players, and let me tell ya, some of ’em really showed their stuff. So, let’s go through some of ’em and see who was on that team!
Karl-Anthony Towns was a big name in that 2017-18 season. Now, if you don’t know him, he’s a big fella who played center. Big boy, real tall. They picked him first in the 2015 NBA Draft, and let me tell you, he ain’t disappointed! He was the team’s main guy, always puttin’ up big numbers. Matter of fact, he had a season-high efficiency rating of 58, which is mighty fine if you ask me!

Then there’s Jimmy Butler, who was with the Timberwolves for a bit there. Jimmy didn’t stick around long, though, ’cause he got traded, but back in 2017-18, he was playin’ strong. Now, some of the fans, they weren’t too happy with how he left the team, but you can’t deny that he helped the Timberwolves get into the playoffs that season. If you ask me, he was a key player before all the drama went down.
Of course, we can’t forget about Andrew Wiggins. He was another one of them big names on the team. Wiggins, he was drafted back in 2014, and even though folks had big expectations for him, sometimes he played a bit up and down. Still, he had some good games that season, and you knew you could count on him for a score or two when things got tough.
Then, there was Rudy Gobert, another one of them big fellas. Rudy came later, but when he did, he made a real difference with his defense. He was a big guy too, always fightin’ for rebounds and blocking shots left and right. Gotta say, his presence on the court helped solidify that Timberwolves defense.
Also, let’s not forget about Jeff Teague, the point guard. Teague had experience, played with a bunch of teams before, and he came to the Timberwolves to run that offense. He wasn’t the flashiest, but he was steady and made sure the team ran smoothly. His leadership on the court kept things organized, which is mighty important in a team sport like basketball.
Now, them Timberwolves had a solid roster, but I gotta tell ya, it wasn’t just the stars that made the team work. They had some role players too, like Tyus Jones, Gorgui Dieng, and Jamal Crawford. Each one of ‘em had their moment to shine. Tyus Jones was a steady backup point guard, Gorgui Dieng played some good defense, and Jamal Crawford, well, he could always come in and hit a clutch shot when the team needed it most.

Player List (2017-18 Minnesota Timberwolves)
- Karl-Anthony Towns – Center
- Jimmy Butler – Shooting Guard
- Andrew Wiggins – Small Forward
- Rudy Gobert – Center
- Jeff Teague – Point Guard
- Tyus Jones – Point Guard
- Gorgui Dieng – Power Forward
- Jamal Crawford – Shooting Guard
- Nemanja Bjelica – Power Forward
- Marcus Georges-Hunt – Guard
When you look at that roster, it’s clear that the Timberwolves had a strong mix of young talent and experienced players. In fact, they finished that 2017-18 season with 47 wins and 35 losses. Not bad, right? That got ‘em into the playoffs, though they didn’t make it too far. Still, it was a good season for the team.
But, boy, if you think about it, they coulda done even better if they’d stayed healthier and kept things together. Injuries and trades were a big part of why they didn’t make a deeper run in the playoffs. Still, it was a memorable season for sure!
So, in the end, that 2017-18 roster had a lot of talent, but just couldn’t get it all to click when it mattered most. But you gotta give ’em credit for makin’ the playoffs. With the players they had, they gave fans something to cheer about. Who knows what coulda happened if the team stayed more consistent? I reckon only time will tell what might’ve been, but I’ll always remember that season as one where the Timberwolves showed they were ready to compete!
