Okay, so I’ve been meaning to catch a Mississippi State baseball game for a while now, and today I finally got around to figuring out when and where to watch one. I gotta say, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be, but I got there in the end. Here’s how it went down.
First, I fired up my laptop and opened my browser. I headed straight to Google ’cause that’s where I usually start when I need to find something out. I typed in something like “Mississippi State baseball game time TV” or some combination of those words. I don’t remember the exact phrase, to be honest.

I scrolled through the search results, and it was a bit of a mess. There was a bunch of stuff about past games, schedules for other teams, and some news articles that were kinda related but not really what I was looking for.
Clicked on a few links that looked promising. One was the official Mississippi State Bulldogs website, which was okay, but it had their whole schedule for the year, and I just wanted to know about today’s game. Another link took me to some sports news site, but it was talking about a game from last week. Ugh.
- Then I landed on a page that mentioned a game against St. John’s. It said the game would be on ESPN+, which is their streaming service that you gotta pay for. Bummer. But, it did say the game was at 6 p.m. CT on Friday at Davenport Field in Charlottesville. Good info, but I was hoping for a regular TV channel.
- Kept digging and found another result talking about a game against Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament. This one had more details about the TV channels, which was helpful, but it was focused on a whole series, not just one game. Getting closer.
- Another website popped up with info about a game against New Orleans Privateers. This one was on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT at Shucker Park in Biloxi. Not what I needed, but at least I was learning something, I guess.
- Hit another result about a game on May 6th at 7 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. It mentioned that the SEC Network is channel 611 on DirecTV and on Dish. Useful if I had those services, which I don’t. Feeling a bit frustrated now.
After a bit more searching and clicking around, I finally pieced together that Mississippi State baseball games are often on either ESPN+ or the SEC Network. But, I also realized I needed to know the specific opponent and date to get the exact TV schedule. Then I remembered that the official NCAA website, they compete in Division I of the NCAA, might have the info I needed. So, I went there, and they have a way to search for schedules by team.
The Results
It was not easy to find the answer. But finally, I got the answer, the game was on ESPN+ at 6 p.m. CT on Friday. So, there you have it. That’s how I figured out when and where to watch a Mississippi State baseball game today. It took a bit of effort, but I got there. Now I just gotta decide if I wanna sign up for ESPN+ or try to catch a game on the SEC Network another time. Go, Bulldogs!
All in all, it was a bit of a journey to get a simple answer. But hey, that’s how it goes sometimes, right? Anyway, I hope this helps someone else out there trying to catch a Bulldogs game!
