Okay, so, I’ve been trying to keep up with the Wake Forest baseball team lately. You know, see how they’re doing, catch their scores, that sort of thing.
It all started a few days ago. I was just curious, so I started poking around the internet to see if I could find some info on their recent games. The first thing I did was look up their latest score. Turns out, they played against NC State Wolfpack on May 18th. I dug a little deeper and discovered the final score was 9-6. I made a note of that in my journal.
Then, I thought, “Why stop there?” I wanted to see if there were any other games I’d missed. I found another game summary, this one from May 31st against the VCU Rams. They played hard, but it looks like Wake Forest lost that one, 1-0. I jotted that down too, just to have a complete record.

But it wasn’t just about wins and losses. I also found an older game from June 11, 2023, where they crushed Pitt with a score of 17-1. Wow, talk about a blowout! I added that to my notes. This is great!
While I was at it, I stumbled upon some news about the 2024 ACC Championship semifinal. Apparently, Wake Forest beat North Carolina in a nail-biter, 9-5. It was a long game, 12 innings, with a ton of strikeouts and home runs. I didn’t see the game myself, but it sounded exciting. I made a mental note to try and catch their next game, if I could.
Then things got even more interesting. I read that during the 2024 MLB Draft, three Wake Forest players were picked in the top 10. That’s a pretty big deal, apparently it’s only the second time that’s happened for an ACC school. I thought, “Good for them!” It’s always cool to see college players make it to the big leagues.
