So, I was scrolling through my usual wrestling news feed the other day, and a question popped into my head: “Is Wendy Choo still in WWE?” I mean, I hadn’t seen her on TV for a while, and you know how it is in the wrestling world – people come and go.
First, I checked out the recent NXT Level Up episode. I watched some highlights and read some recaps, and bam! There she was, making her in-ring return after almost a year of absence. It looks like she was taken off TV because of some storyline attack.

I got even more curious after seeing this and dug a bit deeper. Turns out, she commented on her return. I looked up what she said. It wasn’t too detailed, but you could tell she was excited to be back. She expressed her feelings to come back.
Then, I started thinking about her character evolution in WWE. She started as “Mei Ying” in a group called Tian Sha. I remembered watching those segments back in late 2020. After that, around August 2021, she finally got back in the ring under the same character.
But then, by November 2021, they completely dropped the Mei Ying persona. That’s when she became “Wendy Choo.”
To round things off, I checked out her background. She’s American and of Chinese descent, been with WWE since 2019, according to her Wikipedia page.
- Wendy Choo is definitely back in WWE, specifically on NXT.
- She returned on NXT Level Up after being gone for almost a year.
- She’s had a few character changes, from Mei Ying to the current Wendy Choo.
- She seems pretty happy to be back in action.
Here’s what I figured out:
So, yeah, that’s my little investigation into Wendy Choo’s status. It’s always interesting to see how wrestlers’ careers develop, especially with all the twists and turns in WWE. I am very glad to see her back again.
