Okay, so, picture this: My family lives and breathes baseball, right? So this year, I thought, why not bring that love into our Christmas? I decided to make a baseball-themed Christmas tree. Yeah, you heard that right, a baseball Christmas tree!
First things first, I gathered all my baseball stuff. I’m talking old baseballs, mini bats, baseball cards, those little baseball helmets we get ice cream in at games – you name it. I even found some baseball-shaped ornaments online, score!

Getting the Tree Ready
Next up, the tree. I picked up a regular artificial Christmas tree from the store. Nothing fancy, just your standard green tree. Now, here’s where it gets fun. I laid the tree down on the ground – much easier to work with this way, trust me. I got the tree stand and put it on the trunk. I tightened those screws just enough to keep it steady but not too tight, you know, so I could still adjust it.
My buddy came over to help (shoutout to him!), and he held the stand in place while I lifted the tree upright. Teamwork makes the dream work, people!
Decoration Time
Now for the decorations. I started with the lights. I used plain white lights because I wanted the baseball stuff to really pop, you see. I wrapped those lights all around, making sure to get every branch.
- Baseballs: I hung those old baseballs all over the tree. Some I hung with string, some I just wedged between the branches.
- Bats: Those mini souvenir bats? Perfect tree ornaments. I tied some ribbon around them and hung them up.
- Cards: I punched holes in some of my duplicate baseball cards and used ornament hooks to hang them.
- Helmets: Those little ice cream helmets? They look awesome on the tree. Just placed them on the branches.
I also had these shiny, reflective ornaments. I hung one at the base of each branch to add some extra sparkle. It really made the tree shine!
The Final Touch
For the tree topper, I didn’t want a regular star or angel. I found this huge foam finger that says “We’re #1” and stuck it right on top. It was perfect!
Man, it took some time, but let me tell you, it was worth it. The tree turned out amazing! It’s quirky, it’s fun, and it’s so us. My family absolutely loved it, and it’s been a huge hit with everyone who’s seen it. If you’re a baseball nut like me, you gotta try this. It’s a home run for sure!
