Well, I’ve been hearin’ some chatter ’bout them fancy Honda cars wantin’ to race with the NASCAR fellas. Folks ’round here, we like our Chevys and Fords, you know, the ones that sound like a good ol’ tractor pullin’ a plow. But this Honda thing, it’s got folks talkin’, that’s for sure.
Now, I ain’t no expert, mind you. I just listen to what the fella on the radio says and what my grandson yells about when he’s watchin’ them races on the TV. He says them Hondas, they’re good cars, real speedy. But can they handle the rubbin’ and bumpin’ of a NASCAR race? That’s the real question, ain’t it? These boys ain’t just drivin’ around on a Sunday afternoon; they’re fightin’ for every inch of that track.

From what I gather, Honda’s been thinkin’ ’bout this NASCAR thing for a while now. Way back in 2019, they were sniffin’ around, but then they kinda went quiet. Seems like they were busy with them other races, the ones with the fancy cars that go real fast on them twisty roads. But now, with these new Next Gen cars, Honda’s lookin’ again. My grandson, he says them new cars are different, more like the cars you see on the street, kinda like them Hondas.
The Big Question: When are they comin’?
That’s what everyone wants to know. Don’t hold your breath, though. It ain’t gonna be tomorrow, or even next year, from what I hear. They’re sayin’ maybe after 2025. That’s a long ways off, ain’t it? Guess them Honda folks gotta get their ducks in a row. They gotta build a car that can compete with them Chevys and Fords, and they gotta find some drivers who ain’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
Ford and Toyota, they already got their new cars ready for the races, you know, the ones that look like the cars you see on the road. Ford’s got that Mustang, looks real sporty, and Toyota’s got the Camry. But Honda, they ain’t got nothin’ yet. And then there’s Nissan. Heard they used to race, but they ain’t in NASCAR no more, not like they used to be anyways. It’s all Ford, Chevy, and Toyota these days.
- Ford’s got a new car.
- Toyota’s got a new car too.
- Honda’s thinkin’ ’bout it.
- Nissan’s out of the picture.
Now, some folks, like that fella Kevin Harvick, he used to race, he thinks it’s a good idea for Honda to join in. Says it’ll make the racin’ better, more competition, you know. And I guess he’s right. More cars, more racin’, more fun for the folks watchin’. But it ain’t gonna be easy. These NASCAR fellas, they ain’t gonna just let Honda waltz in and take over. They gotta earn their place, just like everyone else.

There’s been rumors for years, you know, about this company or that company comin’ to NASCAR. Dodge was a big name, but they left a while back. Now, everyone’s talkin’ ’bout Honda. But all this talk ain’t nothin’ but talk until we see them cars on the track. And even then, they gotta prove they can win. That’s what really matters in NASCAR, ain’t it? Winnin’!
So, is Honda comin’ to NASCAR? Maybe. Someday. But don’t bet your farm on it just yet. We’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, I’ll stick to watchin’ them Chevys and Fords roar around that track. They make a heck of a noise, don’t they? Just like a good ol’ tractor, only faster.
Anyways, that’s what I heard, for what it’s worth. Don’t go quotin’ me on nothin’ now, ya hear?
