Well, now, if you’re wonderin’ how much a fella like Jason Kelly, that pitching coach over at Washington, makes, let me tell ya what I know. I ain’t no expert, but I reckon I can put the pieces together for ya!
Jason Kelly, he ain’t just any coach, ya know. He joined the Washington baseball team back in 2012 as their pitching coach, and he done a mighty fine job with ‘em ever since. Before that, he spent seven years at the University of Washington, coaching them young lads in the art of pitching, which I reckon is a big deal in baseball, seein’ how important them pitchers are. They gotta throw that ball right, or else the whole game’s on the line!

Now, if you’re askin’ how much a coach like him might make, well, I did a little diggin’ around. Over at the University of Washington, a baseball coach in Washington State can be makin’ anywhere from $40,000 to $50,000 a year, maybe more, dependin’ on how long they been at it and how well they do. I found that the average pay for a baseball coach at that place is about $46,091 a year. Now, that’s 19% above the national average for this kind of work. Pretty good for throwin’ balls and teachin’ the young ones how to pitch, I’d say!
But Jason Kelly, well, he’s got himself a bit of a history, don’t he? He wasn’t always just coaching. Nope, he started out playin’ baseball himself. Back in 1999, he was a pitcher over at Cal Poly, before he went to a few other schools like Cuesta College and Missouri Valley College. And shoot, he even went to St. Joseph High School over in Santa Maria back in ‘98. So, he knows his stuff, both from playin’ and teachin’. And that’s probably why he can command such a good salary now. He done paid his dues, worked his way up from pitchin’ to coachin’, and now he’s helpin’ the Washington Huskies stay on top of their game.
Let me tell ya, it ain’t easy bein’ a coach. They gotta be up early, stay late, and make sure them players are ready for whatever comes their way. And from what I hear, Kelly’s done a good job at Washington, teachin’ them boys to throw that ball just right. So, he’s probably earnin’ every penny of that salary!
But I’m sure there’s more to the story than just the money. If you’re askin’ about how much Jason Kelly makes, you gotta remember that coaching ain’t just about the paycheck. It’s about teachin’ the next generation, helpin’ ‘em grow, and showin’ ‘em the ropes of the game. And from what I hear, Kelly’s been doin’ just that, for a good long while now.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about what a coach like him makes, keep in mind it’s a lotta work, but it’s also a pretty sweet gig if you got the know-how and the heart for it. He’s been around the block, played the game, and now he’s teachin’ others to do the same, all while pullin’ in a decent salary!
