Hey there, you young folks, are you all counting days until NFL football starts again? I heard it’s gonna be a big thing, this NFL thing. My grandson, he’s always talking about it. Can’t get enough of that football, I tell ya. So, how many days we got left ’til this NFL season kicks off?
I heard some folks say it’s gonna start in September, is it right? September 5th, I reckon. That’s what they say on the radio. That’s when that Kansas City, the Chiefs, gonna play. They are some champions. They won that big game last time. Big celebration, I heard. Lots of folks watchin’.
Now, these games, they go on for a while, right? My grandson says it will be 2 or 3 hours. He went to one last year, said he had a grand ol’ time. They got those quarters, four of ’em, 12 minutes each. Sounds like a long time to be runnin’ around, but what do I know? I ain’t never played no football.
- First Quarter, they run around.
- Second Quarter, more runnin’.
- Then a break, I guess they need it.
- Third Quarter, still more runnin’.
- Fourth Quarter, almost done.
And this whole NFL season, it goes on for a good while, don’t it? All the way to January, I hear. January 5th, they say, is when the regular playin’ stops. Then they got some more games, somethin’ called playoffs. That’s in January, too, January 11th. Sounds like a whole lotta football to me.
My grandson, he says you gotta get to the stadium early. Like, 90 minutes early. That’s an hour and a half, you know. He says that’s the best time to see the players up close. I don’t know about all that, but if you wanna see them big fellas, I guess you gotta get there early.
So, how many days we got? I heard someone say about 100 days. One hundred days to go until NFL football. It is May now. That sounds about right, don’t it? May, June, July, August, September, there you go. I tell you, I don’t know why my grandson is so excited. It’s just a game, but he can’t wait for NFL 2024.
They got all these teams, you see. And they all play each other. It’s a whole big thing, this NFL schedule. They got it all planned out, who plays who, and when they play. It’s all on the TV and the radio, and that internet thing my grandson’s always on.
I hear it’s the 105th time they’re doin’ this NFL season. That’s a lot of football. That’s longer than I’ve been alive, and I’ve been around for a while, I tell ya. Must be a pretty big deal if they’ve been doin’ it that long.
So, if you’re waitin’ for that NFL football, you got about 100 days or so. That’s what they’re sayin’, anyway. 100 days until September 5th. Plenty of time to get ready, I reckon. Get your snacks ready, get your TV ready, and get ready to yell at the screen, I guess that’s what they do.
Well, I gotta go. Got chores to do. But you young folks have fun countin’ down those days. And tell me, is this NFL 2024 gonna be a good one? I hope that Kansas City, they do good. My grandson, he sure likes ’em. He said that the NFL game is amazing. He likes NFL news, and he always tells me something about NFL schedule. I hope he can watch all the NFL games. He will be happy if he can watch the NFL Kickoff Game.
