So, I’ve been messing around with F1 23 lately, and let me tell you, that auto braking feature was driving me nuts. I mean, I get it, it’s supposed to help, but it was seriously messing with my flow. I wanted full control, you know? So, I decided I had to figure out how to turn this thing off.
First thing I did was pause the game and look for the settings. I poked around and found an option called “Assists” – that seemed like the right place.

In that “Assists” menu, I saw something called “ABS.” It was set to “On.” Hmm, “Anti-lock Braking System,” that’s gotta be it, right? Figured I’d give it a shot. I switched it to “Off.”
- Went to the main menu.
- Navigated to the “Game Options.”
- Found “Settings.”
- Then, I saw “Assists.”
- There it was, “Anti-lock Brake,” turned it “Off.”
I jumped back into a race to test it out. And bam! It was like a whole new game. No more weird automatic braking messing me up when I’m trying to hit those corners just right.
Now, I can really push the car to its limits, and it feels so much better. I tried playing around with trail braking, which is braking while turning, and it actually worked! Before, the auto braking would kick in and mess up my attempts. Now, I can smoothly brake into a corner, easing off as I turn. It felt awesome!
Turning off the auto braking was a game-changer for me in F1 23. It’s like, now I’m actually driving the car, not just along for the ride. It might be tougher for some, but if you really want to feel in control, you gotta turn that ABS off!
