Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about these NBA contracts. Folks keep askin’, “is NBA contracts guaranteed?” Well, it ain’t as simple as yes or no, but mostly, yeah, they pretty much are.

Guaranteed Money, Most of the Time
See, once these fellas sign on that dotted line, they gettin’ their money. Don’t matter if they get hurt, play like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, or if the team decides they don’t want ’em no more. That money’s theirs. That’s what they call “guaranteed.” Like that fella, what’s his name? Curry? Yeah, that’s him. Heard he’s got a whole heap of money comin’ his way, guaranteed, for the next few years. Millions and millions, they say. Enough to buy a whole county, I reckon.
Now, most of them teams, they got a bunch of players on guaranteed deals. Some got more, some got less, but most got at least 13 or 14 fellas gettin’ paid no matter what. And some of them rich teams, they got even more, maybe 15 or more players all gettin’ their guaranteed money. Heck, they gotta insure their top 5 most valuable players, the big shots, ya know? The league makes ’em do it, so those fellas definitely gettin’ paid.
But There’s Always a “But,” Ain’t There?
But here’s the thing, not every contract is the same. It’s like when you go to the market, some apples are shiny and perfect, some got a few bruises. Same with these contracts. Them first-round draft picks, the young fellas everyone wants, they gettin’ that guaranteed money right off the bat. It’s part of the deal, they call it a “rookie wage scale.” They gotta pay ’em, no matter what.

But them second-round fellas, well, that’s a different story. Their contracts ain’t always guaranteed. They gotta haggle, they gotta prove themselves. Sometimes they get a guarantee, sometimes they don’t. It all depends on who they are and who they playin’ for. It’s a gamble, just like plantin’ crops, sometimes you get a good harvest, sometimes you don’t.
- First-round picks: Mostly guaranteed money.
- Second-round picks: Not always guaranteed, gotta negotiate.
- Top players: Definitely guaranteed, teams gotta insure ’em.
It’s All About the Money, Honey
And let me tell you, there’s a whole lot of money floatin’ around in this NBA thing. They got these lists, you know, on the internet, shows you how much each player is makin’. Total value, guaranteed money, it’s all there. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it. Enough money to make your grandma’s grandma rich for a hundred lifetimes.
Someone told me somethin’ happened on January 10th, probably somethin’ to do with these contracts. Always somethin’ happenin’ with money and them players. Keepin’ track of it all is harder than milkin’ a cow in a thunderstorm.
So, To Sum It Up…

So, is NBA contracts guaranteed? Like I said, mostly yes. Once they sign, they get paid, unless you a second-round pick, then you might have to fight for it. But them big fellas, them stars, they gettin’ their money no matter what. And that’s the long and short of it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
