So, the other day I was watching an NBA game and started wondering, “Which college actually pumps out the most NBA players?” I mean, you always hear about these big-name schools, but I wanted to know for sure.
I started by, you know, just Googling it. I typed in something like “college with most NBA players” – super basic, nothing fancy.

Digging Through the Results
The first few results were pretty much what I expected. Lots of articles and lists, all talking about the same few schools. I started clicking through a few of them, just skimming to see if there was a clear winner.
It didn’t take long to see a pattern. One school kept popping up at the top of every list: the University of Kentucky. I mean, it was everywhere!
Confirming My Findings
- I made myself read through three or four different sources, just to be extra sure. I mean, you can’t always trust the first thing you read on the internet, right?
- Saw that most of lists had the University of Kentucky.
And yeah, every single one of them had Kentucky at number one. Some of the articles even had the exact number of current NBA players from Kentucky, and it was always a higher number than any other college. I think it was 30.
So, there you have it. From my little internet deep dive, it looks like the University of Kentucky is the king of producing NBA talent. I guess all those blue-blood basketball fans were right all along!
