Okay, so I’ve been wanting to break in this new baseball hat for a while now. It’s just too stiff, you know? Doesn’t feel right on my head. So, I did some digging and found a few ways to get it done. I thought I’d share my experience with y’all, ’cause who doesn’t love a comfy hat?
First, I decided to go with the shower method. Sounds kinda weird, right? But trust me, it seemed like the easiest way. I hopped into the shower with the hat on my head, making sure the water was nice and warm. The idea is to get the hat all soaked and then let it dry on your head so it molds to your shape. I stood there for a good five minutes, letting the water run over the hat. It felt pretty silly, to be honest, standing in the shower fully clothed, but for a hat, you know.

- Step 1: Put the hat on.
- Step 2: Get in the shower.
- Step 3: Make sure the water is warm, not too hot.
- Step 4: Let the water soak the hat thoroughly.
- Step 5: Get out of the shower.
After the shower, I took off all the clothes, and just keep the hat on my head. The hat felt a bit heavy, but I kept it on, hoping it would work its magic. I wore it around the house for the rest of the day, even took a nap with it on. It took forever to dry, I’m not gonna lie. I did check on it every now and then, making sure it was still fitting okay. Eventually, after a few hours, it was mostly dry.
The Results
Once it was dry, I took it off and checked it out. It definitely felt softer than before, and it seemed to fit my head a lot better. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a big improvement. I’d say it was worth the whole shower thing. You can also try to wash it in the washing machine to make it even softer.
So, if you’ve got a stiff new baseball cap, give the shower method a try. It’s a bit unconventional, but it seems to do the trick. Just be prepared to have a wet head for a while! It is not that bad of an experience at all.
