Okay, folks, let’s talk about how I got those NBA 2K24 rosters updated. It’s not rocket science, but it can be a bit of a pain if you don’t know where to look.
First off, I fired up my PC and launched NBA 2K24. Gotta start somewhere, right? Then, I went straight to the main menu, you know, the place where all the magic begins. I navigated my way to the “Play Now” section, that’s where I needed to be.

Once I was in “Play Now”, I spotted the “NBA Today” option and that’s what I chose. After clicking that, the game showed me a bunch of teams. To be honest, I didn’t really pay much attention to them, I just wanted to get to the settings.
From there, I scrolled over to that little cogwheel icon – you know, the one that screams “settings”. Clicked on that bad boy, and boom, I was in the “Options/Features” menu. Found the “Roster” option and selected it, obviously, we are updating rosters after all.
Now, here’s where it got a tad bit tricky. There are a couple of ways to go about this. You can either create your own custom roster, which is cool if you’re into that sort of thing. I’m not very interested in that though. Or, and this is what I did, you can use the official 2K Sports roster. I went with the official one, because, well, I wanted the latest and greatest, and it is convenient.
So, I selected “Official 2K Sports Roster”. The game asked if I was sure, and, yeah, I was pretty darn sure. I hit “Yes,” and the game started doing its thing, downloading the updated roster. It took a few minutes, which was a good time to grab a snack and a drink.
Once the download was done, I made sure to save that roster. You don’t want to go through all that trouble and then lose it, right? I named it something simple like “UpdatedRoster” so I could find it easily later. After saving, I went back and played a game and enjoyed the updated roster.

And there you have it! That’s how I updated my NBA 2K24 rosters. I saw some buzz online about players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Davis getting rating bumps, so I figured it was time to get those updates on my game. Now I can enjoy the game with all the latest player ratings and team changes. It’s a good feeling, really. It’s like the game is fresh again.
This method works on PC and it should be quite similar if you are playing on consoles like a PlayStation or Xbox.
