Alright, guys, so the other day I was trying to get my game on in NBA 2K24, and I really wanted to lock onto a specific player. It took me a bit of fiddling around, but I finally figured it out, and I’m here to share the process with you all.
Getting Started
First things first, I hopped into a game. You know, just a regular exhibition match to test things out. I made sure I was controlling the whole team at the start – that’s important for the first step.

Finding the Right Settings
So, I paused the game and went into the settings. I think it was under “Options,” and then “Features”.I then found the Controller Settings. There’s this option that says like, “Player Lock”. I was trying several options from the setting, finnally I switched it to “On.”
Making the Switch
- After enabled player lock, backed out of the menus.
- I pressed L1 button and R3.
- When the player icons showed, I use left joystick to choose my player.
- I pressed the icon again with X.
BOOM! Just like that, I was locked onto the player I * camera changed, and everything.
Testing It Out
I played a few possessions, just to make sure it was working right. The controls felt a little different, since I was used to controlling the whole team, but it was pretty intuitive. Dribbling, passing, shooting – it all worked as expected, just from the perspective of my chosen player.
Switching Back (If You Want)
Now, if you want to go back to controlling the whole team, all I did was double-tap L1. That released the player lock, and I was back in command of everyone. Easy peasy.
So yeah, that’s how I figured out how to do the player lock thing in NBA 2K24. It’s pretty simple once you know the steps, and it definitely adds a new dimension to the game. Hope this helps you guys out!
