Okay, so the other day I was thinking, “I wish there was a way to enjoy baseball without, you know, actually playing baseball.” I’m not exactly the athletic type, more of a “sit on the couch and watch sports” kind of guy. So, I started digging around to see if there was such a thing as a “simulated baseball game.” Turns out, there is! And it’s pretty cool.
My Deep Dive into Digital Dugouts
First, I googled “simulated baseball game,”. I was hit with a bunch of stuff – video games, online simulators, even board games! It was a little overwhelming, to be honest.

I started with the video game route. I mean, who doesn’t love a good sports video game? I checked out some of the big names, and they looked awesome, but super involved. I’m not looking to become a virtual pro, just want some casual fun.
Then, I stumbled upon these online simulators. These were interesting. They’re basically websites where you can manage a team, make decisions, and see how your team performs based on, like, a bunch of stats and algorithms. It’s less about flashy graphics and more about strategy, which I kinda liked.
- I signed up for a free trial on one of these sites.
- I created my team (Go, Fighting Squirrels!).
- I picked my players (mostly based on cool names, don’t judge).
- I set my lineup and strategy.
- Then, I hit the “Simulate Game” button.
It was pretty neat! The site basically “played” the game for me, showing me the results of each play, inning by inning. My Fighting Squirrels lost, badly, but it was still fun to watch it all unfold. It’s like being a team owner, but without the pressure of, you know, actually owning a team.
I also looked into the board game versions. They seem fun too, a bit more hands-on, but I’m still leaning towards the online simulators. They just fit my lazy lifestyle better.
So, that’s my journey into the world of simulated baseball. It’s a whole world of baseball enjoyment without having to put a lot of energy. If you’re like me and enjoy the strategy and excitement of baseball without the actual physical exertion, you should definitely check it out!
