Alright, so you wanna know where to park for them NC State football games, huh? Well, listen up, ’cause I’m gonna tell ya like it is, no fancy talk, just plain and simple.
First off, they got some free parkin’. Yeah, you heard that right, free. You can park over at the State Fair, Carter-Finley Football Stadium, and that Lenovo Center place. But listen here, if you got one of them big ol’ RVs, you can’t just leave it there all night. They gotta be gone between midnight and 8 in the mornin’. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

Now, if you ain’t one for the free stuff, or maybe you get there late, they got other places too. You can get yourself a permit online. They got permits for CRI 3, Lot 25, Lot 7/7A, Union Deck, West Deck, North Deck and that CRI Deck (ADA) if you need it. And if you wanna park at the Cone Deck, the pink one, that’ll cost ya 20 bucks. They only take cards though, no cash, so don’t go showin’ up with a wad of bills.
- Free Parkin’: State Fair, Carter-Finley, Lenovo Center (no RVs overnight!)
- Permit Parkin’: CRI 3, Lot 25, Lot 7/7A, Union Deck, West Deck, North Deck, CRI Deck (ADA)
- Pay Parkin’: Cone Deck (Pink) – $20, card only
If you’re one of them early birds, gettin’ there like, 3 hours before the game starts, they say you should try that M-2 Deck. It’s over there by Fifth Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. If you’re a little later, maybe an hour and a half before the game, try the M-1 Deck on Wick Avenue. That’s between University Plaza and Lincoln Avenue. They got all these decks and lots, it’s enough to make your head spin, but that’s what they told me.
Now, they also got somethin’ called Lot 79, south of Spartan Stadium. They recommend parkin’ there too, but I ain’t never been, so I can’t tell ya much about it.
They got maps and stuff too, if you’re fancy like that. You can look up the parkin’ costs and hours and see where all them lots are on a map. Just search for Carter-Finley Stadium parkin’ and you should find it. Me? I just follow the signs and hope for the best.
And listen, once you’re in, you’re in. Don’t go thinkin’ you can leave and come back, ’cause they ain’t gonna let ya. They scan your permit or take it when you go in, and that’s it. So make sure you got everything you need before you head in.

They also got directions if you’re comin’ from far away. If you’re comin’ from the west, they say take I-40 East to Wade Avenue, then get off at Edwards Mill Road or Blue Ridge Road and follow the signs. But honestly, just put it in your GPS, that’s what I do. These young folks and their gadgets, sometimes they’re right useful, I gotta admit.
Oh, and another thing, they got this Pack Forward campaign. I don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds like somethin’ to do with parkin’ too. They got ranks and cutoffs and points, sounds complicated if you ask me. Probably somethin’ for them folks who go to every game and got season tickets and all that fancy stuff. Me? I just go when I can and find a spot to park.
So there you have it. That’s all I know about parkin’ for them football games. Just remember, get there early if you want a good spot, and bring your card if you’re plannin’ on payin’. And don’t forget, no RVs overnight! Now go on and enjoy the game!
