Well, let me tell ya, figuring out what time and channel the NASCAR race is on today ain’t always easy. It’s like tryin’ to catch a greased pig at the county fair, you know? But don’t you worry none, I’ll try my best to lay it all out for ya, plain and simple, like it is.
First off, seems like them big races, the ones with all the fuss, they usually show up on channels like Fox, FS1, NBC, and that USA Network thingamajig. Now, if it’s one of them real important races, like that Championship thingy they talk about, that’ll probably be on NBC. I heard tell that the big championship race this year is gonna be on Sunday, November 10th, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. That’s what them city folks call “ET”.

But hold your horses, ’cause it ain’t always that simple. Sometimes, the races are on different channels dependin’ on where you’re at. Like, if you’re over in that UK place, you gotta have somethin’ called Premier Sports, and that’s hooked up with Sky Sports and Virgin, whatever them things are. Sounds complicated, if you ask me. We sure didn’t have all this fancy stuff back in my day.
- Big races are usually on Fox, FS1, NBC, or USA Network.
- The Championship race this year is on November 10th, 3:00 PM ET on NBC.
- UK folks need Premier Sports to watch.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for a race today, and it ain’t that big Championship one, you gotta do some diggin’. I heard tell that the Kansas playoff race was on USA Network and NBC, so that might give you a clue. They like to shuffle things around, ya know, keep ya on your toes.
And about that time thing, well, it changes all the time too. That Championship race, they say it starts at 3:00 PM ET, but that’s 1:00 PM local time, wherever that Phoenix Raceway place is. And then I saw somethin’ about another race startin’ around 2:00 PM CT, which I reckon is Central Time. And another one startin’ at 5:54 PM Eastern Time! It’s enough to make your head spin, I tell ya.
Seems like most of these races happen on Sundays, which makes sense, I guess. Folks got time to watch on Sundays. But they got races all over the place, like that one in Phoenix they talk about, it’s a one-mile oval track. And then there’s Richmond Raceway… They got races all over the darn country, it seems.
And let me tell ya, these races ain’t short neither. That Championship race is 312 laps, 312 miles! That’s a long way to be drivin’ in circles, even if you’re goin’ real fast. They even break it up into stages, like 60 laps at a time. I guess them drivers need a break every now and then.

So, if you wanna watch the race, you gotta figure out the channel and the time. Sometimes it’s on FS1, sometimes it’s on NBC or USA Network. And they even got radio coverage on somethin’ called MRN, and you can stream it on somethin’ called FOX Sports Streaming, if you’re into that newfangled technology. And if you’re up in Canada, looks like TSN might be your best bet.
Here’s a little summary for ya:
- Kansas Playoff Race: USA Network and NBC.
- Championship Race: 3:00 PM ET (1:00 PM local) on NBC.
- Another Race: Green flag at 2:00 PM CT.
- Richmond Race: Started at 5:54 PM ET.
- Channels to check: FS1, NBC, USA Network, TSN (Canada).
- Streaming: FOX Sports Streaming.
- Radio: MRN.
And don’t forget, these fellas, they drive fast! I heard tell of a fella named Joey Logano, won the championship three times! Three times! That’s a lot of racin’ and a lot of winnin’. They race and race, seems like they never rest. They call it Speedweek, and it goes on for a day and a night, then they keep on racin’. They must be made of somethin’ special, these drivers.
So, there you have it. That’s about all I know about watchin’ them NASCAR races. You gotta check the channel, check the time, and be ready for a long afternoon of racin’. And if you get confused, well, you ain’t the only one. It’s enough to make a body wanna just sit on the porch with a glass of sweet tea, but then again, them races can be mighty excitin’ too.
