Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into WWE 2K23 lately, and one of the biggest questions I had was about crossplay. I mean, wouldn’t it be awesome to body slam your friends no matter what console they’re on? So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work figuring this out.
First, I launched the game on my PlayStation 5. The menu loaded up, and I started poking around the settings. Tried searching for any mention of “crossplay” or “cross-platform” but came up empty. Nada. Nothing.

Then, I decided to hit the internet. Browsed through tons of forums, articles, and even some official-looking websites. Read through a bunch of posts where people were asking the same thing. The more I dug, the clearer it became.
- Found a forum post where someone mentioned needing a “2K account.” They said you could enable something by hitting the triangle button on the main menu. Got my hopes up a bit there.
- Stumbled upon an article that flat out said WWE 2K23 doesn’t have any cross-platform play. It mentioned that only players on the same platform can play together. For example, PS5 with PS5, Xbox Series X with Xbox Series X, but not PS5 with Xbox. Bummer.
- Kept searching and found another article confirming the bad news. No crossplay in WWE 2K23. It said online multiplayer is limited to the same platform.
- Even discovered some official statements basically saying crossplay isn’t a thing in this game. They talked about cross-gen editions, but that’s not the same.
After all that digging, the answer was pretty clear: WWE 2K23 doesn’t support crossplay. You can only play with folks who are on the same type of console as you. I even tried to connect with a buddy who has an Xbox, but no luck. We just couldn’t get a match going.
So yeah, it’s a bit of a letdown. I was really hoping to mix it up with players on different consoles. But hey, at least we can still enjoy the game within our own platform communities. Maybe they’ll add crossplay in future versions. One can only hope, right?
It seems like the developers focused on other features this time around. The game still has a lot to offer, even without crossplay. I’ve been having a blast with the MyRISE and MyFACTION modes. And the graphics and gameplay are pretty sweet.
Still, it would have been epic to have crossplay. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for WWE 2K games. Until then, I’ll be here perfecting my Stone Cold Stunner on my PS5. Maybe I’ll catch you online sometime, as long as you’re also on PlayStation!
