Okay, here is my sharing about the NASCAR race in Las Vegas today.
So, I woke up this morning thinking about catching the NASCAR race in Vegas. I grabbed my phone and googled “what time is the NASCAR race in las vegas today”.

The first thing I saw was something about the “South Point 400” at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Apparently, the green flag, whatever that means, was supposed to wave at 2:49 PM. I guess that’s when the race actually kicks off.
Then I found another piece saying the race should start at 2:30 PM ET on Sunday, October 20. That made me think that the date is fixed.
- Date: Sunday, October 20
- Event: South Point 400
- Start Time: 2:30 PM ET (I assume that’s when it’s listed to start)
- Green Flag Time: 2:49 PM ET (That’s when the race supposedly really gets going)
- Location: Las Vegas Motor Speedway
I also stumbled upon something about the NASCAR Cup Series schedule for 2025. It mentioned a “Pennzoil 400” on Sunday, March 16. I guess the name of the race changes sometimes.
I found the schedule in Las Vegas, here is what I got:
- NASCAR Xfinity Series practice and qualifying: 5:30 p.m.
I noticed they used “Central Time,” so I had to figure out what that meant for me on the East Coast. It’s all pretty confusing, honestly. But hey, at least I got a general idea of when to tune in. I just hope I don’t miss the start!
So there you have it, my little adventure in figuring out the NASCAR race time. It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing, but I got there in the end. I might not be a racing expert, but at least I can pretend to be one now. LOL!
