Okay, so I was chilling the other day, scrolling through basketball videos as usual, when a question popped into my head: How many NBA players are there in 2024? So, if you do the basic math, 30 teams times 15 players is 450. But then you have to add those extra players on two-way contracts and maybe some guys who are free agents but still considered part of the league. That quickly gets you to around 500 or so.
Even though I didn’t find an exact, definitive number for 2024, I realized that there are roughly 500 to 550 players in the NBA in any given year. It’s a lot more than I initially thought! It made me appreciate the sheer scale of the league and the huge number of athletes who are part of it. From the top draft picks to the undrafted guys fighting for a spot, it’s a massive community of players all chasing their dreams. It was a fun little exercise to remind myself just how big and diverse the NBA world really is.
