Alright, so yesterday I was all set for the Texas A&M baseball game. You know, got my snacks ready, cleared my schedule, the whole nine yards. I’m a huge Aggies fan, so I was pretty pumped.
But then, right as I’m about to tune in, I see this update: “Game Delayed”. Ugh, talk about a buzzkill. I mean, come on, what’s with all these delays in baseball? It’s like every time I try to watch a game, something gets in the way.

I did a little digging, trying to figure out what was going on. Turns out, it was a rain delay. Seriously? Again? It’s not like this is some big surprise, right? It’s Texas, rain happens. Why can’t they just plan for this stuff?
So, I started looking into this whole rain delay thing in baseball. Apparently, it’s a pretty common occurrence. They stop the game, wait it out, and then pick up where they left off. But sometimes, these delays can go on for hours! Like, who has time for that? I thought there’s a new rules of speeding up the game, it is like a joke, right?
- They can be short, like a quick pause in the action.
- Or they can drag on forever, leaving you wondering if the game will ever resume.
- Sometimes, they even postpone the whole darn thing to another day!
Here’s what I found out about rain delays:
Anyway, after what felt like an eternity, the rain finally stopped, and they restarted the game. The Aggies ended up losing, which just added insult to injury. I mean, I waited all that time for a loss? Come on!
This whole experience got me thinking about the length of baseball games in general. They’re just too darn long! I saw some stats online saying the average game lasts over three hours. I mean, 162 games in one season, how could the players take every game seriously? It’s like they designed this sport to test your patience.
I’m not saying I don’t love baseball, but these delays and the overall length of the games are making it harder and harder to be a fan. Maybe they need to rethink this whole thing and come up with a way to speed things up, also, make the game shorter.

So yeah, that was my experience with the A&M baseball delay. A whole lot of waiting around for a not-so-great outcome. But hey, that’s baseball, right?
