Alright, let’s talk about the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings, shall we? It was a pretty wild year, lots of twists and turns, and some real nail-biters. I’ll give you the lowdown, but you know, I’m just your average Joe fan, so don’t expect any fancy jargon or anything like that.
The season started off with Jimmie Johnson taking the checkered flag at the Daytona 500. That’s always a big deal, right? And by the end of the season, well, he was holding that championship trophy for the sixth time! Now, that’s impressive, right? Talk about a guy who knows how to win.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Johnson, oh no. There were a whole bunch of drivers who were right on his tail, giving him a run for his money. Guys like Matt Kenseth, who was the points leader for a good chunk of the season, and Kyle Busch, who had a fantastic year, especially in the second half of the season.
Now, about the Chase… that’s where things really got interesting! You know, the final 10 races where the drivers are all battling it out for the championship? It’s always a real rollercoaster ride, and this year was no exception. Remember that race at Texas? Johnson won that one in a big way, which really gave him some momentum heading into the final two races. And when all was said and done, he ended up taking the title, which is pretty impressive when you consider all the big names he was up against.
So, how did it all shake out in the end? Let’s take a look at the final standings.

So, as you can see, it was a really tight race. Johnson, Kenseth, and Busch were all practically neck-and-neck, and it came down to the wire. And you know, I can’t help but wonder… What if Kenseth or Busch had a little bit more luck? What if a few things had gone differently? Would they be the ones holding up that championship trophy? It’s always fun to think about, right?

And, of course, there are all sorts of other things to talk about too. Like those exciting wins at Daytona and Charlotte, or those thrilling races at Phoenix and Richmond. And, you know, we can’t forget about the drivers who had a great year but maybe didn’t get the championship, like Kenseth and Busch. They were definitely some of the top dogs in the series.
And then there were some of the guys who, well, didn’t quite have their best season. Sometimes you just gotta chalk those things up to the ups and downs of racing.
So, what do you think? Who’s your favorite driver from the 2013 season? Was Johnson’s sixth championship your favorite moment of the year? Let me know what you think!
