They gotta practice a whole bunch. I heard it’s like 12 to 15 hours for every minute they dance on the court. Can you believe that? All that work for just a minute! And it ain’t just dancin’ either. They gotta get all dolled up, makeup and all that. And they gotta smile, even when their feet are killin’ them. It’s a tough job, that’s for sure.
- Some dancers get paid by the hour too. I saw somethin’ online, on that GlassDoor thing my grandson showed me. Said some dancers for the LA Clippers, they make like 29 to 47 dollars an hour. That ain’t bad, but it ain’t always that much, you know.
- And then there’s the Dallas Mavericks dancers. They make even more, from what I hear. Like, maybe 49,000 to 91,000 dollars a year. That’s a whole lot of money. But that’s probably the best of the best, ya know? The ones who really know their stuff and work their tails off.
Some teams pay more for practice too. Like, 30 bucks a practice, I heard. But not all teams are the same. Some are stingy, some are generous. Just like people, right?
And it ain’t just the money, see? They get some other stuff too. Like free tickets for their friends and family, free parking, and sometimes they even get to travel for free. That’s pretty good, huh? But don’t forget, they gotta try out every year. It ain’t like you get the job and you keep it forever. Nope, you gotta go and dance your heart out every summer just to keep your spot. And lots of folks want those jobs, so it’s tough.
So, how much do they make? Well, like I said, it depends. But on average, it seems like they make around 425 dollars a game. That’s about 17,000 dollars a season. Not bad, huh? But remember, that’s just the average. Some make more, some make less. And they work darn hard for it. So next time you see them dancers on TV, or at a game, remember they’re not just pretty faces, they’re athletes, and they deserve every penny they get.
