Alright, so, I’ve been getting into NASCAR lately, and I’ve been trying to figure out when these races actually start. It’s a bit trickier than you might think!
First thing I did was try to find some info online. You know, the usual – googling “NASCAR race start time”. I saw a bunch of stuff, but it wasn’t super clear, lots of different times and channels, and even different dates!

Then I noticed something about a race being postponed to February 19th at 4 PM ET, and then it said it was suspended to August 19th at 11 AM ET! Talk about confusing. So, I started to try and match these dates to different races. They mentioned the “2024 Championship Race” on Sunday, November 10th at 3 PM ET, and the “2024 Go Bowling at The Glen” on September 15th, also at 3 PM ET, and then there’s one on September 29th at 3 PM ET. Okay, so it looks like most of them start at 3 PM ET, but there’s that one at 11 AM ET. I realized that I needed to pay attention to the specific race name and date, not just the time.
I also saw that different races are shown on different networks. Some are on NBC Sports, some are on USA Network, and apparently, others are on FOX and FS1. So I started to organize the races by network. It looks like the Championship Race is on NBC Sports, the Go Bowling at The Glen is on both NBC Sports and USA Network, and the one on September 29th is also on both. I guess if I want to be sure, I need to check both channels. Oh, and there was also something about a “Darlington Raceway” race, but I couldn’t find a time for that one.
Then, there was this whole thing about streaming the races online. They mentioned something called “Fubo” and a free trial. You can watch on Roku with Fox, FS1, NBC, and USA Network, and they said they have over 100 live channels for $82.99 a month. Sounds cool, but it could be pretty pricey if you’re just watching NASCAR. I haven’t tried that yet, but I might look into it more.
So, here’s what I’ve figured out so far:
- Most NASCAR races seem to start at 3 PM ET, but some might start earlier, like at 11 AM ET.
- Different races are broadcast on different channels: NBC Sports, USA Network, FOX, and FS1.
- You can potentially stream NASCAR races online using Fubo, but it might be expensive.
Honestly, it’s still a bit of a mess, but at least I have a better idea now. I’ll keep digging and see if I can find a more definitive schedule. If any of you guys are NASCAR experts, feel free to drop some knowledge in the comments!
