Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now. I always get asked, “What’s in your baseball bag?” Well, today’s the day I finally show you all what I carry around to the field. Let’s dive right in!
My trusty old glove
First things first, I grabbed my baseball glove. This thing is ancient, but it’s like an old friend. I oiled it up last night, so it’s good to go. I’ve had this glove since high school, and it’s been with me through thick and thin. It’s practically molded to my hand by now. I remember breaking it in, playing catch for hours with my dad. Good times!

Bats and more bats
Next up, bats. I usually carry at least two. You never know when one might break, and it’s always good to have a backup. Today, I’m taking my favorite wood bat and my trusty aluminum one. I spent a good chunk of time yesterday wrapping the handles with fresh grip tape. Nothing worse than losing your grip mid-swing!
Balls, balls, balls
Of course, can’t forget the baseball. I grabbed a bucket of balls from the garage. Most of them are scuffed up, but they still fly. I even found a couple of brand-new ones hiding in the bottom of the bucket. Score! I love the feeling of a fresh baseball. I even wrote my name on a few. Reminds me of that one time I hit that grand slam in college. What a day!
Essential gear
- Cleats: Can’t play without them. Mine are a bit muddy, but they’ve still got some life in them. I polished them up this morning, so they look somewhat presentable.
- Batting gloves: These are a lifesaver. No more blisters! I made sure to pack a fresh pair. The old ones were starting to smell a bit funky, to be honest.
- Helmet: Safety first! I always wear my helmet when batting, even during practice. I’ve seen too many close calls. My helmet’s got a few scratches, but it’s still in good shape.
- Hat: Gotta keep the sun out of my eyes. My lucky hat is a must-have. It’s a bit faded, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Plus, it keeps my head cool.
Extra stuff
I also threw in a few other things:
- Water bottle: Gotta stay hydrated, especially on hot days. I filled it up with ice-cold water this morning.
- Snacks: Some sunflower seeds and a protein bar. Just in case I get hungry during the game. I always get a little peckish after a few innings.
- Sunscreen: Don’t want to get burned! I applied some before I left the house and packed the rest. The sun can be brutal out there.
- First-aid kit: Just a small one, with band-aids and some antiseptic wipes. You never know when you might need it. Better safe than sorry, right? I’ve had a few scrapes and cuts over the years.
So, I packed all that stuff into my bag. It’s a bit heavy, but I’m used to it. I’ve been carrying this bag around for years. It’s got a few rips and tears, but it still does the job. I remember buying it at a local sports store back in the day. I swung by the field, ready for a good game. I met up with the guys, and we started warming up. We played for a few hours, and it was a blast. I even hit a home run! After the game, I packed everything back into my bag, tired but happy. It was a good day.
That’s pretty much everything in my baseball bag. It’s not fancy, but it’s got everything I need to enjoy a good game of baseball. I hope you found this little tour of my baseball bag interesting. Maybe it’ll inspire you to get out there and play some ball yourself! Until next time, keep swinging!
