Okay, so I wanted to find out how many people in the US play tennis. It seemed like a simple question, but you know how these things go – it turned into a bit of a rabbit hole!
First, I hit up Google. You know, the usual. I typed in “how many people play tennis in the US”.

My Search Journey
- I started by looking for official sources. I figured there must be some kind of tennis association that keeps track of this stuff.
- I found some articles that talked about the growing popularity of tennis, especially after the pandemic. Apparently, lots of folks were looking for outdoor activities.
- I stumbled upon the Physical Activity Council’s report, mentioned in some articles. It seemed promising.
It took a few clicks, but it turns out that the tennis participation numbers in the US, according to this Physical Activity Council report, grew in numbers.
So, that’s what I found. Not too bad for a quick search, right? I was curious, I did some digging, and I got my answer. It looks like that the number has grown over the past few years.
