Well, let’s talk about this de la Cruz boxing, you know? I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I can tell ya a thing or two. It’s all about punchin’ and not gettin’ punched, ain’t it? Simple as that.
This fella, de la Cruz, seems like a tough cookie. They say he started boxin’ a long time ago. Some folks call it “turnin’ professional,” sounds fancy, huh? Means he started doin’ it for money, I guess. He’s been at it for a while, that’s for sure. They wouldn’t be talkin’ about him if he wasn’t any good.

Now, I heard tell he’s got some wins under his belt. Lots of ’em, they say. And some knockouts too! That means he hits hard, real hard. Knocks ’em right out, lights out! Don’t mess with a fella who can do that, I tell ya. It ain’t no joke gettin’ punched in the face, even if you ain’t never tried it, you can imagine that much I’m sure. I wouldn’t want to be on the receivin’ end of one of those punches, no sir.
- They say he’s got a real good work ethic. Means he trains hard, I reckon. Puts in the time, day in and day out.
- And he’s got that “determination,” whatever that means. Sounds like he don’t give up easy. That’s important in life, I think, not just boxing, you have to keep going, even when things get tough.
Some folks keep track of all his fights, you know? Like how many wins, how many losses, and how many knockouts. They even got numbers for it, like “6-0-0” or somethin’. Beats me what all that means, but I guess it’s important to them boxing folks. They got all sorts of rankings too, seems complicated, if you ask me. They even talk about amateurs and pros, makes my head spin.
I heard someone sayin’ de la Cruz had a real good amateur career, means he was doin’ it for fun before he started doin’ it for money, I think. Won a whole bunch of fights, they say. More wins than losses, that’s for sure. Then he decided to go pro, and that’s when things really got serious. Started gettin’ real recognition, you know?
They talk about him comin’ from somewhere, this Barranquilla place, and the Dominican Republic. Guess those are far-off places, not like here. But it don’t matter where you come from, long as you can throw a good punch, right? That’s what boxing’s all about.
There’s talk of him movin’ to the USA, trainin’ with some fancy coach. Guess that’s where all the big-time boxers go. They got all the best equipment and trainers over there, I hear. Maybe he’ll get even better if he goes there.

They even compare him to other boxers, like this Manny Pacquiao fella. Now, there’s a name I recognize! Heard he’s one of the best ever. They say he’s got a southpaw style, whatever that means, something to do with which hand he leads with, I think. If they’re comparing de la Cruz to him, he must be pretty darn good, you ask me.
Someone said trainin’ is important in boxing. Well, no duh! You gotta learn how to punch and dodge and all that stuff. And you gotta have a good teacher, someone who knows what they’re doin’. Can’t just go swingin’ your arms around like a wild man, you know? Gotta have some technique, some strategy.
De la Cruz has got what it takes, I think. He’s got the talent, the work ethic, and the determination. He’s come a long way. Started out young, probably. Worked hard, trained hard, and now he’s makin’ a name for himself. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, ain’t it? Even an old lady like me can appreciate that. It ain’t easy work, that’s for sure. It takes guts and dedication to step into that ring and fight. So, good luck to him, I say. Hope he keeps on winnin’ and doesn’t get his face all messed up.
And that’s all I got to say about this de la Cruz boxing. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, but I know a good fighter when I see one, or at least hear about one. And from what I hear, this de la Cruz fella is one heck of a boxer.
