Okay, guys, so I was messing around with NBA 2K24 the other day, and I got to thinking: which teams are seriously hurting for a decent center? I mean, some teams are stacked, but others… yikes. So, I decided to do a little digging, a little playing, and a little, well, experimenting. Here’s what I did and what I found:
Team Needs Assessment
First, I jumped into the game’s roster. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a bit of a stats nerd, so I spent a good chunk of time just scrolling through player ratings and team compositions. I was mainly looking for teams with a noticeable gap at the center position – you know, guys who are either too small, too slow, or just plain not good enough.

I made a list. Yeah, I’m that guy. I literally grabbed a pen and paper (old school, I know) and jotted down the teams that stood out as potentially needing an upgrade in the paint.
The “Try-Out” Phase
Next, I decided to get my hands dirty. I picked a few of the teams from my list and started playing some games. My goal wasn’t necessarily to win (though, let’s be real, winning is always nice), but to really feel how the team played with their current center rotation. Did they get bullied in the post? Were they constantly getting outrebounded? Did opposing big men have a field day?
- I played a few games with the [Team A – insert an actual NBA team that needs a center here, e.g., Hornets]. Man, their starting center was getting cooked! Every pick-and-roll was a nightmare.
- Then I tried [Team B – insert another team, e.g., Trail Blazers]. Their rebounding was atrocious. They couldn’t grab a board to save their lives.
- Then I moved [Team C – insert another team, e.g.,Pistons].Their center was too slowly.
The “What If” Scenario
Okay, this is where things got interesting. I started tinkering with trades and free agency. I imagined, “What if this team had a dominant center? How would that change their game?” I’m not talking about unrealistic trades, like magically getting Nikola Jokic on the worst team in the league. I was thinking about realistic moves, players who might actually be available.
I added a solid, mid-tier center to a couple of the teams and replayed some games. The difference was noticeable! Suddenly, they weren’t getting dominated inside. They had a presence in the paint, someone who could score, rebound, and protect the rim.
My (Totally Subjective) Conclusion
After all this playing and tinkering, I came to the conclusion that some NBA teams in 2k24 really do need a center. I mean a solid center, and I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference it can * course, it’s all just a game, and real-life basketball is way more complex. But hey, it’s fun to play around and see what’s possible, right?

So those’re my experiences that I have test, It’s intersting!I have to keep testing to find some fun things to sharing!
