Well, now, let me tell you what I heard about this here F1 racing thing. Folks are sayin’ Cadillac, yeah, that fancy car company, and General Motors, they’re gonna jump into the mix.
Sounds like they wanna race them cars, you know, like them fellas you see on TV zippin’ around a track.

- They’re callin’ it “joinin’ the F1 grid,” whatever that means. Sounds like a bunch of cars lined up to me.
- And they ain’t just showin’ up tomorrow, no sir. They’re talkin’ about 2026. That’s a ways off, ain’t it? Gives ’em time to get them cars all fixed up and ready to go, I reckon.
Heard tell this is a big deal. Folks are all a-buzz about it. Seein’ as how F1 is a big to-do, all them fancy cars and drivers from all over. And now, we got Cadillac and General Motors wantin’ in on it.
Now, I ain’t no expert on racin’, but I know a thing or two about cars. Gotta have a good engine, gotta have good tires, and gotta have a fella behind the wheel who knows what he’s doin’. That’s what my old man used to say, anyways. He was a mechanic, you see, knew all about them greasy parts and such.
This here “agreement in principle,” that’s what they’re callin’ it. Means they shook hands on it, I guess, but ain’t signed on the dotted line just yet. But it’s lookin’ mighty likely. They’re gonna be the 11th team, they say. More the merrier, I always say.
They’re plannin’ on usin’ that Cadillac name, you know, the one with them big ol’ cars. Always seemed a bit too fancy for my taste, but I reckon they know what they’re doin’. They wouldn’t be spendin’ all that money if they didn’t think they could win, would they?
This F1 racing, it’s a whole different world than what I’m used to. We used to race our pickup trucks down the dirt roads back home. Now that was racin’! No fancy rules or nothin’, just whoever got to the end first.
But this here F1, it’s all high-tech and such. Computers and aerodynamics and all that jazz. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it. But I reckon it’s excitin’ for them folks who like that kind of thing.
So, will Chevy join F1? Well, seems like Cadillac, which is part of General Motors, is gonna be the name they use. So, in a way, yeah, Chevy’s kinda gettin’ in on it. It’s all the same family, you see. Like cousins, I guess you could say.
It’s gonna be somethin’ to see, that’s for sure. Them Cadillac cars racin’ against all them other fancy cars. I might even tune in to watch a race or two, see how they do. Long as they don’t start talkin’ all that technical mumbo-jumbo. I just wanna see some good racin’, plain and simple.
And who knows, maybe one of these days, they’ll have a race right here in town. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? We could all go down and watch them zoom by. Probably have to bring my earplugs, though. Them cars are mighty loud, I hear.
But it’s good to see American cars gettin’ in on the action. We used to build the best cars in the world, you know. Maybe this is a sign that we’re gonna start doin’ that again. One can only hope, right? Anyways, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens come 2026.
