Alright, let’s talk about how fast them NASCAR fellas drive. You know, them race car drivers, they go real fast, faster than anything I ever seen on the farm, that’s for sure.
How Fast Them Cars Go?

I heard tell these cars, they can go over 190 miles per hour. Can you believe that? 190 miles in just one hour! Why, that’s faster than a rooster chasing a hen, I tell ya. And some fella, Bill Elliott, he went even faster, over 210 miles per hour way back in 1987 at some place called Daytona. Lordy, that’s like lightnin’ fast!
Now, they say them Formula 1 cars, them fancy European ones, they go a bit faster, maybe 210 or 220 miles per hour. But them NASCAR boys, they ain’t no slouches neither.
- Speed on the Straights: Them cars, they really get goin’ on the straight parts of the track, over 200 miles per hour sometimes. It’s like watching a blur, you blink and they’re gone.
- Acceleration: They say them cars can go from 0 to almost 100 miles per hour in just a few seconds. That’s faster than my old pickup truck gets goin’, that’s for sure. But them Formula 1 cars, they got a little more pep, I guess. But NASCAR, they got rules, you know, to keep things safe. Been havin’ them rules since way back in the 80s they say.
Racing All Season Long
Them drivers, they race all season long, going from track to track. It’s a tough job, I reckon. Always on the road, always goin’ fast. There’s this fella, drives a Ford, he’s been doin’ okay, but not the best. Still, he’s out there racin’ his heart out. And they got young folks too, like that Hailie Deegan girl. Ford signed her up a while back, she’s learnin’ the ropes.
Fastest Things Ever

You know, they talk about all sorts of fast things, like that fella Bolt, the fastest runner ever. But them race cars, they’re somethin’ else. They’re up there with the fastest things in the world, right next to light itself, they say. It’s hard to wrap your head around it, all that speed.
Staying Safe
Now, racin’ at them speeds ain’t always safe. They say Formula 1, it’s been dangerous for a long time, 70 years or somethin’. NASCAR, they try to keep things safe too, but accidents happen. It’s part of the risk, I guess. Them drivers, they know what they’re gettin’ into.
Why They Go So Fast?
Why do they go so fast? Well, I reckon it’s the thrill of it. The competition. And the fans, they love to see it. It’s excitin’, that’s for sure. Even an old lady like me can appreciate the speed, even if I don’t understand all the ins and outs of it. It’s just plain amazin’ to see them cars go zoomin’ by.

So, How Fast Exactly?
So, to sum it up, them NASCAR drivers go real fast. Over 190 miles per hour, sometimes over 200. Bill Elliott, he went over 210. Formula 1 fellas might go a bit faster, but NASCAR is plenty fast enough for me. It’s a whole different world, them race tracks. Not like the slow pace of life out here in the country, that’s for darn sure.
And that’s all I got to say about that. Them cars are fast, real fast, and them drivers are brave souls, that’s the truth.
