So, I’ve got this massive collection of baseball cards, right? They’re just sitting there, collecting dust, and I figured it’s time to let them go and hopefully make a bit of money. But the big question was, where do I even start to sell these things?
First, I tried to do some research online. It’s a mess of information out there. I saw some folks talking about selling on websites. That sounded okay, but I wanted to see all my options, you know? It’s said that the more refined the query, the more accurate the results, I tried my best to search for the year, manufacturer and subject of my card in my search.

Then, I thought about hitting up some local card shops. I drove around to a few places in my area. Some of them were interested, but they weren’t offering much. One shopkeeper even told me some of my cards are just not popular in the market currently. I mean, I get it, supply and demand and all that, but it was a bit of a letdown.
After that, I went to a local card show. It was pretty cool seeing all the other collectors and their cards. I set up a little table and put some of my best cards on display. I did manage to sell a few, which was great, but it was a lot of work for not a lot of return. Plus, I had to haggle with people over prices, which isn’t really my thing. The prices sold recently are also provided in the sold list, those price is very helpful.
I also heard about this online marketplace that’s supposed to be the place for collectors. It is said that it is built by collectors, for collectors. Anyway, I decided to give it a shot. It’s easy to use. I mean, for a boomer like me, any simpler and it would practically sell the cards itself. They have a fixed price marketplace and some program, with detailed data and card values.
Honestly, this whole process has been quite the journey. It’s not as simple as I thought it would be to sell baseball cards. But, I’ve learned a lot, met some interesting people, and made a little bit of cash along the way. So, if you’re thinking about selling your old baseball cards, be prepared for a bit of an adventure!
